Bleedingnova
Well yeah, but the climate is quite different (Argonia=warm, Skyrim=cold) which is what I meant. And I'm pretty sure it's not just swamp lands, the northern areas are rain forest and such. Swamps are near the coast. Black Marsh is quite interesting, actually. Maybe TES VI? Imagine it on next gen graphics... I was thinking They were going to do that for the next game, I hope they don't screw it up.
InuyashaFE
Brrr, you're giving me chills Vindekarr. At least put those between spoiler brackets :) Yes, please. O__O I've had enough of spiders for one week. Dx
Vindekarr
Well Huntsmans, the Australian ones, have huge fangs, it was just something about the shape though. Still, I just don't get arachnophobia, out of literaly 1,600,000,000 known species of spiders 22 can do you noticeable inconvenience, but would be less harmful than a wasp sting. 6 can kill. SIX, out of one-point-six-million species, are deadly to humans. Now, of that six species, only three are actualy agressive enough to "actualy bite" and use a fatal quantitiy of venom. Of those three, all of them have a widely available antivenom, and the only fatalities from them since the early '90s have been in third-world countries. Finaly, your physical fitness hugely effects the potency of a bite: Black Widows fit in at number four in the world's most potent spider venom, however even they don't have a 100% fatality chance, only the Funnel-Web and Banana Spider have that, aswell as a general belief that Africa's little known Six Eye'd Sand Spider has an instantly fatal bite. As for Argonians, I reckon they're warm blooded. Remember, there's an Argonian as the head of the Bruma fighter's guild, and he says "Gotta nice pair 'o fur boots to keep me feet warm, gotta give a Nord a good thumpin' to keep my blood flowin' *laughs*) And there's no suggestion that they are in any way inconvenienced by the climate. Likewise they don't have to warm up each day, since they cool off while sleeping. Argonians if you've noticed, simply get up each day like they're a mammal, with no apparent need for a period of warming. Warm-Blooded dinosaurs did exist, and if a reptile the size of a city bus can keep itself warm internaly, then so can a far more sophisticated, human sized Argonian. To bring some science into things: To have snow the daytime temperature has to be lower than -3 degrees Celcius, any warmer and it melts to slush. So for Bruma to have permafrost as ity does, it would need to be permanently hovering around the -3 Celcius level or lower. The lowest it's possible to get is -243 degrees Celcius, since cold is, not a forcew in it's own right, but the lack of a thermal charge, and when there is absolute O thermal charge, the temperature is -243, it can't go lower without breaking the laws of physics as we know them. Now, to survive in that sort of temperature, even a mammal need's thick insulating garments and would still be wise to avoid blizzards and falling into water, I really hope Skyrim does have some climate survival mechanics in it's more brutaly frigid regions, I'd like to have to battle natural elements aswell as barbaric beasties, I'd find it fun. I mean, really, you'd look flippin' indestructible, what with a Shackleton-Esque fur coat, in my case an Ushanka(A traditionalRussian bearskin hat, very comfy, very warm) or a Shacko(A traditional Bearskin hat of western european design, less comfy) and a big axe. I really hope you have to be careful with the cold, I would really enjoy some proper wilderness survival antics, time to teach Bear Grylls how it's done! scot
I agree with the survival mode, I was hoping they would add the hardcore mode from new vegas into skyrim since they said there is a cooking skill -.- but if there was such mode I think they would mention it already. Also we can chop wood isn´t it?So would make sense if we use it to keep us warm.I wonder why can we cook and chop wood if it´s no use for us... maybe there is still some surprises ahead. Sepherose
I think an Argonian doing a dragon shout is gonna sound goofy. "Fusssss Roh Dahsssssss!" Anyway glad to see them back though I keep imagining them like reptiles in a cold climate just chilling on a rock in the sun motionless. I can just imagine fighting one,"I would kick your ass right now if I had the adequate internal body temperature to do so!" "Oh boy once I warm up in the sun you gonna get it!" *hit him with a weak frost spell then just watch* "Oh you are the biggest kinda a**hole.." HAH! Oh man that got me XD
Ghogiel
Don't most Lore experts consider Argonians warm blooded anyhow? I think one of the main evidences has to do with female having mammary glands, which is an organ only mammals have.
Jacars
@ChogielWell, in Morrowind they don't have mammal glands, and I think Oblivion only had them because Argonian share the same body meshes with other -mammal- races.
