I don't mind nudity in games, but only if it's not a built in feature. The reason for this is that as some have said, the game's rating would suffer, it would be littered with controversy, etc. I highly doubt Skyrim would ever have complete nudity as a feature in a million years. Game companies tend to want to draw in as little controversy as possible, that isn't going to work if they start slapping complete nudity all over the place.

I personally do not want Skyrim delayed because they decided to do something controversial like this, and causing it to be re-rate, etc.

I'm amazed and glad this thread has such thoughtful responses. It's not really something to be taken lightly.

Hopefully, if and when modders do decide to add nudity to the game, they'll first peruse over this topic to get a good idea of how to improve the implementation of it, and what people are looking for in a good nude mod. I have no complaints about what's been released, but maybe for Skyrim someone will make an immersive nude mod. :thumbsup:

I don't think it needs to be put in the game by Beth.

Nudity in a game like this isn't really going to make a great deal of difference to the story and to be perfectly honest, as someone mentioned earlier, Beth don't exactly create the greatest of bodies.

It won't take long for people to mod in nude patches anyway so then folks can pick and choose what they want to do with their own game. I don't agree with the "it's not tasteful because Skyrim has children. I have children aswell but I don't wear a wetsuit in the bath. If it's kept in indoor environs away from the eyes of the small inanimate child shaped pixels then it doesn't really matter.

But in my own view I think Beth should just focus on the game itself rather than add in a bit of pointless nudity. We'll do that ourselves anyway.

You have no idea how mad it makes me whenever someone refers to 3D design as pixels, even more when they refer to it as "a bunch of tiny squares", yes they are thousands of pixels, but do you see them? EVER? Unless you are running an extremely low-end computer(in which case you should not be playing Oblivion or Skyrim, heck maybe not even Morrowindfor that matter!) you will only see the smooth non-blocky textures. Now I know you may just be saying 'pixels' as in insult to their very nice game textures, but really it is not necessary to point that out. :dry:

And for my thoughts on

in Skyrim- I don't see whats the big deal. If they add nudity(even an on/off option like some other games do) the modders will work on other projects thus we will see better mods out there sooner. :thumbsup: If they don't, well the obvious happens, within the first few days there will be around 20+ nude mods out there which will eventually be dominated by one supreme nude modin a week or two. :down: All they need to do to make that on/off switch is:

On= Underwear

Off= No Underwear :facepalm:

Heck, Daggerfall had nudity did it not? The game is going to be rated M, people really need to argue about other things than "Oh noes there's going to be :sick: -

- in my Skyrimz! " If anything I'm curious about how the new AI will act. 8)

It would be funny to see what fox news has to day anyways, you know how they are with these topics.

I've never thought of it as insulting to the texture artists or whatever. I always saw it as a rude way of saying "Why are you getting so hot and bothered over computer art representing sex and/or nudity, when it's not even real?" Occasionally this is followed by even more insulting statements such as "Because obviously real girls are scary" or "Yay, Oblivion mods provide free porn!"

Considering how some of the nastier games already have nudity and more, I don't see why Skyrim can't have it. That said, so long as they make it as customizable as Oblivion I won't complain. Besides, as others mentioned, they really aren't that good at making good looking nudes. Personally I'd rather see built in BBB and real heels but I'm just a bit of a pervert.

Bethsoft's modelers need to go back to basic drawing 101. The Community modders are much better at making things for the games.

Nudity is natural, and should be treated that way. The only reason the children and teenagers snicker is because the grownups and parents teach that nudity is embarrassing and the politicians make laws forbidding it.

It's all kinda sad.

So .. nudity in Skyrim? I don't care. If there is it's ok. If not that's ok too.

I agree with this, except the modeling part.

You have to keep in mind that they are doing the game for consoles in mind, which have 5 year old hardware.

And the modders don't have to worry about that, and make things as detailed as they can.
