Sorry if this is an inappropriate forum to ask this, but I really need some advice here.

So, I hear that Bioware has been hacked. And as a result they've reset passwords for user accounts.

Furthermore they state that one can submit a message to them so that they'll send you an email with instructions on how to create a new password. Problem is, I've waited some 24 hours now, and still no mail from them.

Can someone please tell me how to contact them without having to make foreign call (calling the US from Europe is quite expensive) or having to logging into a service - something I can't do no-how, since the password for my account has been disabled?? :wallbash:

Go to the site, and where it says to log in, go to the "forgot password" link. Fill in your e-mail address and wait, but also check the spam filter. I just did it and it worked instantly.

here's something funny.. I got one of those emails, but my EA account has not been disabled or password reset in ant way shape or form. I have a feeling it only affects the old Bioware forum server which was sunset almost 2 years ago. Just my theory at this point. The thought of scam email did cross my mind...

EA reset the passwords on their CURRENT servers of users who ALSO had accounts on the old BioWare Boards. They figured (probabaly correctly for the vast majority of users) that it would be the same username and password in both systems. (Not for mine, but I'm definitely not typical about that sort of thing...)

I received the following email and was able to update mine by simply clicking on the "forgot password" link which just asked for the email address I used to create the account. I typed it in, hit submit and an email verification immediately popped into my gmail account. Updating my profile was quite easy after that.

And I had forgotten that I even had one...and I wouldn't have one if it wasn't for the fact that the Mass Effect 2 REQUIRED that I create an EA account and associate it to my game in order to get a lousy free add-on pack.

We recently learned that hackers gained unauthorized access to the decade-old BioWare server system supporting the Neverwinter Nights forums. We immediately took appropriate steps to protect our consumers’ data and launched a thorough ongoing evaluation of the breach. We have determined that no credit card data was compromised from the servers, nor did we ever have or store sensitive data like social security numbers. Our investigation shows that information such as user names, encrypted passwords, email addresses, mailing addresses, names, phone numbers, CD keys and birth dates from these forum accounts on the system may have been compromised, as well as other information (if any) that you may have associated with your EA Account. In an abundance of caution, we have changed your password to ensure account security. Please visit this https://www.ea.com/us/profile/reset-password

Yep, I got one too and the only reason I even had an account on their system was because of Dragon Age Origins.
