LulzSec Disbanding

Yep. Just read it on the news. The latest hacker group is dissolving...presumably because of fear of the law.

Your thoughts?

Pussies.

Goes to show the 19 year old the police caught in the UK was one of their main guys, and the rest got a dose of reality that they weren't impervious and immune to the long .... of the law. Anyone else notice that their tweets since the 19 year old got brought in changed quite noticeably; lost most of the cocky jibe they originally had?

Yeah, not fooling anyone.

I was gonna post about it this the other day when I read it on Lulzsec's twitter. I was checking it occasionally for any signs of something I should have worried about. They said a while ago that they had only intended on being around for like 2 months or so. They did cause a lot of damage and I do not approve of anything they are doing, but at the same time they beefed up a lot of people's awareness about their internet security. In my opinion, at least some good came of it. Anyone agree or am I alone in this here boat? :psyduck:

About damn time, these people were really annoying the hell out of me. I hope every hacker who participated pays for their crimes. While they did raise awareness of the importance of good internet security and protest the actions of corrupt corporations and politics, they also did damage to sites and people that did nothing wrong.

Hope that the world doesn't collectively forget about them and they get away with it.

Since they are just a bunch of attention whores, it would almost be better if we all just forgot about them, and told them to grow up. Still, it would be nice to see some justice served.

Yeah...

They claim "boredum" but really, I think Dark0ne and Genzel are right: They didn't get the attention they wa`nted, and they realised that they were MAJOR targets, and now they're runny away like scared little goats.

For my opinion I'm simply going to quote Duke Nukem: "I'm from Las Vegas and I say kill 'em all!"

I like how they seem to have decided to quit out of fear of being caught. But there's no way anyone will let them go free after all they did.

Also, I've found some documents online explaining their techniques. According to them, their targets weren't chosen for fun or by random or anything else, but because the targets were the only things they could hack or had a known exploit for.

(It's an interesting read, but I'm not sure if I can link to it or if it's even true.)
