That Morrowind Feel

I still play Morrowind to this day. Morrowind has that unique feeling to it. Every place is special in some way and it just makes you WANT to explore, and the game rewards the explorer A LOT. Will Skyrim have unique cities and landscape or have the dull grass and trees that oblivion had? aaaand will exploring actually be worth it?

I think there is going to be a lot of different styled places. Even though Morrowind was pretty much just the same the whole island, it was unique. Oblivion was stated as 'a united kingdom' environment (although I've never been to the UK, so I wouldn't know) which has already been used as a scene for a long time. Because Morrowind was new, something that no one had ever seen before, it was awesome to explore it. I hope that Skyrim will have a lot of never before seen environments. :) Edited by billyro

Being from the UK I can tell you there wasn't nearly enough Skooma dealers or hobbits for Oblivion to be anything like England.................

Lots of trees though, yes

Furthermore, it's important to remember that Skyrim and Morrowind have different design goals in terms of the enviroment and feel of the land. In their words, Morrowind was about making you feel like "a stranger in a strange land", hence why everything was rather warped and alien, and carrying that distinct Morrowind air.

Skyrim, on the other hand, is more about the great, Nordic enviroment, and it's presumably being designed to bring across a feeling of majestic wildland and old Norse lore, with the mountains and birch-forests and the like.

I read somewhere (don't remember where) that Skyrim has a team of dungeon designers whereas Oblivion had one designer. At least the dungeons will get some group attention.

I doubt that. but if it was true, the guy doing all that needs serious props just because there is no way he would have been doing level design for more than what..hmm max 2 years in total. And there is a lot of level design... and his brain must be mush after all that.
