Morbias777
Hello, nexusmods. I stumbled upon a strange problem that never happened with previous versions of game editor (i.e. with skyrim or oblivion or old fallout games.) Basically, I get a very low resolution of render windows in fallout 4 editor, I googled the problem and can't find any answer. Take a look: http://i.imgur.com/d2h9bPz.jpg My screen resolution is set to 1920x1080, but creation kit somehow not only fails to render stuff in decent quality, it also gives a low fps even in areas with low complexity. Needless to say, I am not new to modding, and it is near impossible to work with editor with such a problem. I also can't find any particular setting to change a resolution. If my PC specs are important, I play fallout in 1080p resolution with everything maximised on stable 60 fps, and I never had any issues with low FPS in older editors. Any help is very much appreciated. Edit: while I do realise it should probably have been posted on bethesda forums, I doubt I will get any response there, this is why I ask it on this forum with experienced people. TrickyVein
Even though the Fo4CK has been opened up to larger numbers of people, the Bethesda forums nonetheless have answers to a very large number of frequently asked questions and address lots of bugs, especially with the UI. Arthmoor
This is a known issue we reported during closed beta but got no reply for. I'd suggest anyone seeing this go to their forums and report it again or it'll never get fixed.
TrickyVein
I too have a 1920x1080 1080p monitor and can adjust and scale the render window just fine - so if I post my specs and the OP posts his/hers I wonder what differences this may reveal. So here are mine.
Thaiauxn
Wait... that's the Fallout 4 GECK UI? Wow. It's... it still looks all kinds of 1999 hideous. I'm going to take a wild guess that Bethsoft's F4 GECK is just piggybacking on the F3 GECK and they didn't enable hyper-threading or >1GB GPU VRAM handling, and they expect you to only spread that RAM over 2 CUDA cores like it's 2008, and all of it processing on 1 CPU core. What card do you have, and can you post your performance manager window? Morbias777
Guys...Guys.Guys! I fixed the problem. Open your editor. Rescale a render window. Dance with timbrel. Then load a cell you want to work with. Yeah, and don't even think about touching the Toggle Sky button, it will drastically change the quality of render. It's just works. My pc specs are: win7 ultimate x6416 gb ramgtx780 amp edition 3gb and old intel i5 cpu, 4 cores, 3.2 ghz Ok, enough of goofing around, here are the comparison images, hopefully it will help someone. http://i.imgur.com/DAd6BXe.jpg Just make sure to rescale a render window before loading a cell.As for low fps, I can deal with it, most of the time I work with turned off lights anyway. Arthmoor
When I reported this it was only possible to get it to happen when the game lighting AND the sky were turned on at the same time. Turn either one off, the pixelation goes away. It's highly annoying.
RoyBatterian
@thaiauxn Nah it's 64 bit and uses whatever ram you have, the render window has full scene rendering too including physics, grass, etc. As for the UI, I prefer functionality over looks, I don't give a crap if it uses icons from 2000. Frankly I hate modern UI design as it's unintuitive and looks like a first year art student designed them.
