chipndip
I don't know where to post this, so I post it here:) I have a brother who lives with me in the same household and he also have his own gaming computer. My problem is he also wants to join the Nexus site. Would this be permitted since we both use the same network thus the same ip address?

kvnchrist
I won't speak for the site, but one thing to remember. That most people can usually be determined by their writing styles. I had some siblings posting on my old board. They were like day and night.
ub3rman123
It's okay for two people to share the same IP, as long as they're different people. A quick message to a moderator saying that this new member is a relative of yours and not a second account won't do any harm.
LHammonds
It normally isn't a problem since most people can follow the rules. However, if your younger sibling is likely to cause trouble, it could mean trouble for you as well. An IP ban for him equals an indirect IP ban for you. Yes, there are ways of telling if there are consistently two different people using different accounts under the same IP. However, you might want to make sure the two of you are not following each other around posting in the same places, rating the same mods / images, etc. which can look like one person trying to act like two or more people trying to artificially affect stats. Since you posted a question about this, I doubt you fall into that category. Just be careful...especially if other people can access your PC / forum account and cause trouble in your name. ;) We don't typically go around on a witch hunt looking for multiple accounts under a single IP. But we do such research when looking into reports of troublemakers. LHammonds
chipndip
I don't want to be responsible for his actions, so I'll just tell him to join another site:)
