Wow. You guys have certainly been flinging ideas around while I've been gone.

Okay, so popular choices are:

Europe/Asia: An interesting idea, but I do not think that is going to happen. The series, as brought up earlier, is based on the American 50s, so

going outside America is unlikely.

Canada: Not sure about this, though since the US annexed Canada, I could at least see this as a DLC maybe.

New York: Now, nukes aside, I could imagine a lot of stuff going on here. Enormous skyscrapers, the lower streets maybe infested with ghouls, turf wars all over with raiders. A lot of cool stuff going on, regardless.

Montreal: Don't know too much about Montreal, but from what I heard this is a popular choice. As an island, that could prove to be a very interesting change of pace.

LA: Very interesting place to go, but as it's in California, I can't see too much going on there.

Kansas/Great Plains: This is Legion Territory, so I could see a few opportunities here, maybe as a group of tribals.

New Orleans: One of my ideas, think a more populated and less creepy (or more, whatever your tastes) Point Lookout. Imagine roving Mardi Gras gangs, voodoo specialists, and Radgators. And awesome duels on steamboats.

Chicago: I honestly think this has the greatest chance. Allusions in New Vegas(canon or not), a great setting, and just close enough to the Great Plains for Caesars' Legion to be a threat.

Keep up the good suggestions, and keep the bickering to a minimum.

Chicago of course for many reasons: ED-E's log, a chance to rewrite the wholes in tactics, and also the fact that the Legion will be very important in F4(Official thing somewhere around here.) and i recently made a sort of map of legion expansion for an RP thread that points Chicago at the edges of expansion. I wont explain how the map works as its long and complicated.

Also i highly doubt that the location would make it just like The Pitt. F3 was in DC but it wasnt JUST the city it was the outer area too.

New factions ?

They already added Ceasar's Legion, NCR, and others, though in FO3 you had Enclave, other and other. NY would not be the best. At all. Il would be in radioactve ruins, with a shitty little dome for the BOS, The Legion or Raiders of some kind. I mean, it would be like FO3, you find yourself a hole, loot the s***, get out, walk away and BAM ! a ghoul. C'mon there would be like, two or three main cities, where you won't get any crap from no one, and other places that you unlock and get greeted/shot.

The storyline also should really change, cuz' FNV wasn't that great of a story.

Anyways let's hope the best !

Of all of the ideas I have seen the most appealing to me is New New Orleans - or at least the gulf coast. Many of you may not know it, but New Orleans is actually mostly below sea level and is kept dry by a bunch of huge pumps. (That's why it flooded during the hurricane) The tourist area known as 'The French Quarter' is actually one of the higher places and the upper stories of some of the tourist hotels would be remaining sticking out of the water in a huge swamp or jungle. Most transportation between areas would have to be by boat - making various boats important to the story line. It is also on the gulf coast, making for larger ships and the possibility of travel to other places - possibly outside of the US. Mayan Mexico on the Yucatan peninsula?

There is room for the radgators, giant sharks, neo-confederates, Cajuns, Indian tribes, voodo cults, Mardi Gras and mysterious lost buildings back in the swamp, overgrown Mayan temples in the jungles of the Yucatan penensula just across the Gulf of Mexico. Riverboats on the Mississippi going upriver to places like the capitol of the New Confederacy at Vicksburg, The ruins of Memphis or even as far north as the trade center of the mid west at Louie (St. Louis)

The region along the gulf coast is a jungle with green water, (covered in alge and vegitation) Spanish moss hanging from old trees along the water highways, dangers like radgators, freshwater sharks, giant snapping turtles, piranah that migrated from South America, Mutated swamp cats, large snakes and more - how about a mutated flesh eating muskrat?

New Orleans would be best for a Southern Fallout. The idea of a Voodoo Shaman Ghoul Companion just entered my brain...

I second on Fallout: New Orleans

Swampy wasteland covered in mutated plantlife? Check

Neo-confederates a la enclave? Check

Radligator hunting on a Fanboat? Check

extensive use of traps? check

Post-apocaliptic skunk ape on wild wasteland encounter? check

i just hope there are giant enemy toads. Poisonous giant enemy toads.

No Enclave, I'd be thinking more of something similar to the NRC.
