kazimrmerchant
Details and video http://www.pagesportal.net/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=405 So it seems like they are working hard this time to avoid bugs :D

JimboUK
Honestly it's about time they took this seriously, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion and FO3 all had far more issues than other games. The odd bugged quest can't be helped, in an open world you really can't predict every action the player may take, what can be helped are things like CTDs and lock ups. What does concern me is updating on the fly and how it might impact mods, these are basically mini patches which may cause the same problems for some mods as the normal patches do. ginnyfizz
Yep, due to Steam auto updating refusing to turn off, as well as the fact that you seemingly can't go into offline mode to play the game unless it is up to date (well that's how it has been for me) I feel that I am going to be doing a lot of backing up of the ini...like every day by the sounds! Ghogiel
I have already commented on this when it was first posted, I was happy to hear that there might be more interest in after release developer support from Bethesda. Though I made a reservation of the auto update side of it. Is it too much to ask for a no auto update and just have a button on game loader that says check for updates? JimboUK
I guess one way around it would be putting Steam into offline mode and then blocking Skyrim with your firewall. Anyway I'd like some more details on how this will actually work, they can't update everything on the fly as the files may well be in use.

It won't be any different then a large patch. There will just be very small, 1kb to 500kb patches that will patch in when you load the game. JimboUK
So it's not on the fly at all, it's an auto update like other games have.
worm82075
So it's not on the fly at all, it's an auto update like other games have. When they say on the fly they mean posting small changes on a daily basis rather than huge cumulative patches every 30-90 days.

That's not on the fly though, it's just more patches which to be honest is worse than waiting for a proper patch. Anyway it looks like they won't fix everything http://www.destructoid.com/skyrim-will-not-fix-bugs-if-they-re-fun-210386.phtml ;) H/T Stretzal at Beths boards.
