Signette
I'm really curious about the number of modders willing to port mods on new PC version. For some reason I fear it won't be easy and we'll be missing out on TONS of fantastic mods. Skyrims' life cycle is long finished, hoping for new authors to pop up with quality works as the old ones is unlikely IMO. This simple fact really doesn't make it worth to switch to new version, plus with all the fixes Skyrim is currently as stable and as bug free as possible, wouldn't trade it for nothing. cdcooley
If the announcements are right then mods very likely won't need to be updated for the PC version. The only porting required will be for uploading them for the consoles and even that should be as simple as loading them into the new CK and choosing the publish option. And don't underestimate the influx of new modders. Yes, some old mods won't get updated, but if they were really popular or important someone will create something equivalent. Boombro
Maybe some modders who wanted to make big mods but old skyrim was not that fitting may start with the new version.
woodsman30
Hmmm.. about time ...I think this will offer a new challenge to modders as this will offer a more stable platform to work from. It says it will be free on steam hope that stays true we will see.
strawbqwerty
So with a 64 bit version of Skyrim just how many mods/ plug ins will you be able to run ?I realise there will be a system to system difference, but in a theoretical perfect world with with just the right computer is it over 3000 ? Now that would be some load order to sort.Interesting amount of procrastination about perceived facts verses real facts to read through. Seems to be a good thing. bben46
I tried the search a couple different ways, and didnt find my answer, so if it was already said, I apologize. But will this "remastered" version affect any of the hardware requirements? My laptop is a decade old, and barely able to run the low settings, and my tower is even older. Im getting ready to upgrade the tower, but by how much? I can afford the middle to upper-middle suggestions, but is that enough to run the new version? I would appreciate if any hardware guys could PM and let me know a good set of suggestions for the new game.First are either of your computers 64 bit? or are you still running 32 bit systems? If they are 32 bit systems then no, it will not work. If they are 64bit then maybe it will run. But I an suspecting that the DX11 video may also be a problem. Alecu
Bethesda is playing a sneaky game here. Free upgrade to pc players so that they can make mods for the new remastered game, including consoles. That's probably the reason they offered the free upgrade.

In case you didn't notice Skyrim still has a very active modding community. I think you're just making up some kind of theory that's not there, really.
