Skyrim Remastered is a Separate Game

I don't think it will be separate. In my world of fear and recrimination, it will be a forced update. I have already gone offline with steam and won't go back online until the game is released and I know it's safe. A forced upgrade to 64bit would ruin my build for months until the mods are all sorted out (some never will be). I'm in offline mode until November at least.

It has nothing to do with whether you "highly doubt" it's going to be a separate game or not... it's been confirmed.

Skyrim remaster! (Bethesda) "Hey, lets rip off the mods on nexus by using their textures to release a console version of the game that does not suck. We can resale a game to xbox players that PC gamers have been playing for years. Then we do not have to get of our a55 and make a TES6."

I am not buying another game from Bethesda until they make the next Elder Scroll. I supported them with Dishonored, New World Order, etc... They spit in our face with junk called ESO and now a remaster that look about the same as my current version of Skyrim.

Want to remaster something Bethesda? How about Morrowind, it could use some love and TES fans would love that.

They are going to make TES6, they just released FO4 last year, so get the stick out of ur ass.

Morrowind is pretty nice with the easy to install overhaul tbh. I would have really loved to see Oblivion instead, it's the game received the least love by the modding community.

WHY? JUST WHY!? There is no need to have a remastered version! They could have just said "oh now we're releasing Oblivion remastered" and people would have been a LOT more happy. You have no clue how infuriated I am right now. I haven't been this upset in 10 years. For real Bethesda!? They should AT LEAST fix everything wrong with the old game before releasing a "new" one!

I think the main goal of the Bethesda is to make money on PS4 and Xboxone by remaster the game. As they had announced that console players can also play mods, it must be released on PC as well. Because if there were no PC version, who make mods for console players? And there must be some incompatibility between the mods based on the vanilla game and the remastered game, so they must release the PC version. As the PC version will be free if you have all DLCs, so it is obvious what they aim for.

The reason Skyrim Remastered even exists is Bethesda used Skyrim as a starting point for porting Fallout 4 to the current gen consoles, since they use the same game engine (FO4 uses a tweaked version of Skyrim's engine). It's being released because someone leaked it's existence around 6 months ago, so Bethesda figured "why not...". Now, I do agree with most people, we don't need ANOTHER Skyrim, but hey, a free game is a free game

I think the question is it may cause the division both among the players and modders. Which version will the modders develop on it in the future? If there are plenty of mods which require the remastered version, what should we do? Upgrading to the new version, abandoning some old mods which are incompatible with it or keeping the old version while giving up experiencing the new mods? For me, I want to either experience the new mods or keeping the old mods IN ONE GAME.

skyrim has more players of the best two consoles, and a remastered version is highly wanted by many people. A version like this will also age better since oblivion need a big overhaul for all of it models and it gameplay would be dated as hell.

But it not a new game, it hardly is.
