Plus Morrowind had one thing that Oblivion and Skyrim didn't..... CROSSBOWS! I mean seriously, did everyone in the world forget how to build crossbows while at the same time Akotosh came down and took every single crossbow in the world and then flew away giggling like a 12 year old school girl because there are no more crossbows and everyone that knew how to make one forgot how to make one so no new ones will every be built? :wallbash:

same goes to spear

Hard to say fully on Skyrim just yet (only 8 hours logged so far), but from what I have seen...

Unmodded -

Story: Morrowind, Skyrim, Oblivion

Gameplay : Skyrim, Morrowind, Oblivion

UI: Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim

I am enjoying it so far, but this UI makes things really damn difficult. Hopefully Bethesda will patch things soon to make it more usable for KB/M users, because I cannot see wasting even more money just to get a console controller to be able to use the menus properly.

I'd say:

Story: Morrowind, Skyrim, Oblivion

Gameplay: Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind

UI: Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind

Skyrim's UI may be a bit awkward at times, but I personally think it's MUCH better than Oblivion's nested tabs within tabs (ew) and Morrowind's annoying attempt at being useful. Plus, it's much nicer to look at, and it allows certain gameplay techniques to be used, such as looking at the golden/glass/sapphire/etc claws to open the large doors in ancient draugr ruins.

Skyrim > Morrowind >> Oblivion

Spent years playing Morrowind. Dozens of characters. Oblivion, I couldn't get into at all. It really just lacked that certain special something for me.

Skyrim brings back all the memories of how much I enjoyed Morrowind, and adds so many new features.

As time comes to pass I find my love for Oblivion was enduced by a bond that had formed after hundreds of hours, not so much love for the Cyrodiil, but more so just attatchment similar to if you know someone(don't even have to like them) for a reaaaallly long time. Skyrim has captivated my love within the first week...I think this will be a good 5 years till TES6: Summerset Isles

People who compare physical things between games dont have a valid argument.

Morrowind had: Crossbows, thrown weapons, spears, medium armor, levitation, spell fasttravel and more individual pieces.(etc)

Oblivion had: a compass, more deadra, voice actors, regular fasttravel, physical traps, jump on water, easy magika access during combat

Skyrim has: Better traps, dragons, a new language, shouts, more and in depth crafting, radiant story = infinite quests.

Its a matter of what you like as to what you want to have carried over. All 3 have M'aiq

At the moment my favourite is still Morrowind, Skyrim is certainly a lot better than Oblivion was but it doesn't have that uniqueness Morrowind had.

Pretty much this. Oblivion was a boring mess compared to Skyrim, and Skyrim is a boring, well, not a mess, ,but just boring game compared to Morrowind.

Skyrim>Morrowind>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Oblivion

the reason being is the level design is far superior to either MW and Ob. I understand why people would pick MW over Skyrim, but the game in pretty much every regard has so much more put into it, Plus I am happy to see that Skyrim resembles MW much more than Ob. I'm quite happy with the game overall.
