Am I the only one who is scared of dragons?

Bound sword and summon atronach are killing dragons in 15 seconds for me. so far 3 down, and no need to use potions, default difficulty.

So far the only thing that has killed me is a dreadlord... too hard to evade it, and it's one hit KOing me. It's in that dungeon at the labyrinth area.

I don't get how you're afraid of dragons but have no problem with zombies and reanimated glowing-eyed skeletons in dark, claustrophobic dungeon corridors.

I saw a Skyrim mod that replaced all giant spiders with bears, for people who have arachnophobia. Really? I'd be deathly afraid of real-life evil skeletons, but they don't actually exist. Likewise, there's no such things as giant spiders... you're fighting them in a video game.

But I guess the whole point of phobias is that they are irrational fears...

Giant spiders do exist, ever seen a Brazillian Bird Eating Spider? biggger than a dinnerplate, and Cave Huntsmen are even bigger, busting the metre mark.

I see what your'e saying, but it's all a matter of degrees. Those spiders are creepy, but you're not going to find them in your kitchen pantry. Likewise, they're really big, but not the size of a sub-compact car.

Not verticaly-spiders are measured by the span of their legs, and with it's long, stilt-like legs the Cave Huntsman can bust through 1 metre horizontal and maybe thirty centimetres verticle.

Biggest spiders on earth:

Legspan: Giant Cave Huntsman.(unconfirmed mega specimin)

Mass: Brazilian Bird-Eating Spider, Brazilian Giant Salmon Pink Tarantula(tied for first, related species)

Biggest fangs(relative to body size): Unknown, rumored to be an obscure species from southern California who's name I'm unaware of. Other possibility is Australian Mouse Spider.

Biggest body(relative to legs) Brazilian Giant Salmon Pink or Giant Bird-Eating Tarantula.

Biggest terrestrial Non-Tarantula: Lycosa Tarantula(Taranto Wolf Spider) found in the Tarantella region, this Southern European Wolf Spider gave it's name to a genus of unrelated, but similarly enormous, (usualy)hairy bodied spiders from Asia and South America, the 'true' Tarantulas.

Some would still consider Giant Tarantulas to be the biggest on earth-their legspan is notably smaller, but unlike the rare, relatively unknown and only very recetnly discovered, Laosian Cave Huntsmen, they're well documented, easy to find, and the docile, sleepy nature seen in many American species makes them very easy to measure. One of the biggest is this, the Goliath Bird Eater, contrary to name, it does not actualy eat birds. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/04/Theraphosa_blondi_1.jpg

Anyone else see a shadow soar past on the ground and your like "SH**!" only to look up and see birds flying. lol. I do that all the time.

Yes, lol. If I see a bird flying in the sky at a distance I'll sometimes mistake it for a dragon if I just glance and be like cr*p.

So im 8 hours into the game and I've just visited the Graybeards. The first scripted dragon was easy cuz I had a bunch of Whiterun guards kill it. My first random encounter was on a mountaintop and I died 12 times before I decided to use my staff that did 25 damage. Then I was walking with my companion back to Whiterun in the dark and out of nowhere I heard a dragon roar and I swear that I've never been so freaking scared before. I just froze behind a rock hoping for it to leave. Which it did. So I suck at killing dragons. Can anyone give me dragon-killing tips? Im a poor BattleMage-in-training.

I'm lvl 10 BattleMage (axe and fire/ice) I use firebolt or icespike along with my summoned atronach and Lydia( w/ a bow) to bring the dragon down to the ground and then I just hack away. I do have to use some potions and healing spells, but it's doable. I haven't accounted an elder dragon yet, but this style has worked well with me. I do find the giants to be impossible to kill though.

I'm not afraid of the dragons anymore, it's those damn 'frost trolls'(?) that I keep a look out for. I met one on the way to see the Graybeards and I could not get that thing down (frost troll 12...me frosted). Instead, I decided to run like hell around it and finally got away from it. No luck with the giants either, I can't seem to find a way to get them down either. LOL! I am now at level 7, maybe I'll have better luck as I get stronger. Not impressed with the 'shout' thing yet either...heh

but then again..I was never good at other languages....
