Ghogiel
There is a lot to praise the game for. I agree on the UI is a bit weird on the PC. The map and skill perk trees aren't utilising the superior ability of navigating windows that a mouse offers you. Very low res textures in places. Well done textures and art direction yes, but still a lot of compression and blurriness, it does significantly impact the scene imo. Don't agree about the bugs and crashing, it's been stable and bug free for me, and in comparison to past Beth releases, it's their most stable game yet. . We have absolutely no way to bind spells, weapons, and other commands across the keyboard as one would expect. This makes the game-play on a PC very choppy. We don't need endless menus when we have 70+ keys. Even Oblivion had a spell wheel hot key that would be nice to have here. Isn't there hotkeys.... Martin126X
The UI is indeed a console port, but it's easy to get used to and then there are mods. The graphics are beautiful, the textures may be a little low res but other then that, awesome.Oh, and you can bind weapons/spells/items to 1-8, you so silly ^^ Oh, and I forgot about the stability and bugs, and for me, well its awesome. Almost no bugs and had no CTD the 18 hours I played. Edited November 13, 2011 by Martin126X
stars2heaven
a lot of complaints I've seen aren't legitimate at all. No hot keys, for instance. Page 7 of the manual tells you how to assign hot keys. Like the guy on the first page who said he wants to use a mouse, it seems like people just want more of the same, and not necessarily because its better. The current UI is a lot more efficient than previous elderscrolls games if you take the time to get used to the keys. Maybe it could have been better if designed specifically for the PC, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it the way it is now. Other complaints I've seen are more of the same: reduced # of skills and things like that that have been cut. All things that we've known about for a while and most of which are highly opinionated gripes anyways. Again, change = bad for them. I wish the graphics could be better too, but it WAS a console port. I'm glad it looks as amazing as it does. Unless you put something up in your face, the textures aren't gona look bad at all. As for me I have no real gripes. The game could have been set up to tweak a little easier for people who don't know about the ini or how to use it. But other than that I am 100% satisfied. vertex23
Psssssst....open your Q menu and hit 1-8. It binds items. Also, you can drop items by hitting R and you can rebind Enter to another key closer to your left hand (Maybe even a mouse button) for the accept button while using WASD to maneuver the UI. People are just too inconvenienced to to change their settings from the default =/

Oh...Forgive me if I'm wrong but isn't it called The Elder Scrolls? The same franchise? The same series of games...Oh no no no, it would be completely wrong to have more of the same indeed. marharth
IMO review sites need to quit reviewing graphics as a major part of the game.

We have CoD series for exactly that.
DyingAtheist
IMO review sites need to quit reviewing graphics as a major part of the game. Graphics are a major part of games in my opinion, they may be superficial, but they boost immersion and allow the game to create better spectacle, and in a game like Skyrim that's damn important.(Note : I think Skyrim looks amazing)

We have CoD series for exactly that. Don't even mention that trash franchise that all you kids seem to like. I have no interest in it and was clearly not referring to it in any way. Bearing what you said in mind... What do you call Fallout New Vegas then? That has 99/100 of Fallout 3's files in it but has more content. So it is more of the same yet is loved by thousands here on the nexus.Same goes for the user interface for Morrowind and Oblivion, while not the exact same they are similar.Having some things that are more of the same is not a crime. Infact most of the time it is welcomed.
forve101
metacritic is pretty uselessthe amount of people rating 0 because of bugs is astoundering :/on the other hand the critics almost always seem to be based, still skyrim had 96 from critics on metacritic ( :D ), highest score i have seen so far ( new zelda had higher at first :/ but than they lowered it) Edited November 13, 2011 by forve101
