WarKirby3333
i'm surprised at the number of people here saying they dont, the poll doesn't reflect it. skyrim is a lot less varied than oblivion. scenery wise, there's snow, tundra, plains, and more snow. i dont care for walking repeatedly over the same paths to look at more brown trees. fat travel cuts out the crap and gets to the good parts (which are endlessly coming). there's too much to do not to fast travel. i already do plenty of walking and fighting anyway, when going to any place i cant fast travel to due to not having been there. i'm not missing anything
soot00
Depends on the time. as an example, Real life beckons but I want to complete one last quest so yes in this case I will fast travel. As other posters mentioned you are gonna miss out on a lot of random events or locales if you do. I came across a skeletal corpse atop the alps during my foot travel, inside the chest next to him I found a Treasure map and an awesome magic dagger (perfect for my rogue class). If I had fast travelled, no way would I have found it.
Tropxe
You should have put "Occasionally" or "Only if you forgot to do something important" or whatever. I mean, I enjoy the feeling of immersion of wandering through the wilderness, but if I just need to pop somewhere the opposite side of the map to get one item, then come back again, I'll fast travel in that situation. XunAmarox
but doesnt really matter as u need to go urself for the first time to be able to fast travel ( I am not trying to be Captain Obvious :D) Actually, you can take a stage coach or whatever they're called, to all of the major cities. Ashbean
i've voted no, but the actual answer is very rarely. I use the paid carriage service, but i'll only ever fast travel occasionally. For example, clearing out a bandit cave near whiterun, it's 1:30 am, I want to log off after i've finished this quest. I'll FT back to whiterun. Usually, however, i run everywhere and explore (used to have a horse but a dragon chomped it a while back. Too embarrassed to buy a new one, i'd have to explain to the guy where my old one went. JimboUK
I fast travel if I've already explored the area between my starting point and destination, I also use it if I need to sell or store loot.
vertex23
It depends. If I just got out of a dungeon that kicked my butt and I'm a little steamed that I still have a ways to go to sell and I can only carry an extra .5 lbs of weight, then yeah, I'll most likely fast travel. So far I think I've fast traveled twice (excluding the carriage once (Those prices are crazy cheap too...). MDMAMGMT
I hate fast travel and have yet to do it. I would use it if it were in context like the Morrowind style Silt Striders or Mages Guild network.
