WolfHawk
So I completed all of the Companion Quests, have become a werewolf and taken Aela the Huntress as my spouse. After all of her comments about being eager to hunt together I figured it was time. We enter a bandit-infested lair and I take on Beast Form swaggering my fast moves and sharp claws. Does my werewolf spouse join me in the hunt? No! She just follows me around, in human form, watching me. She isn't even helping me attack! (I did make sure I had her set to fight before the change.) And here I figured she and I would tear through the forests hunting together now and forever. What'd I do wrong?!
youbetterwork
There's a mod for that:http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11450/?
WolfHawk
Great. Thanks. Next time I start a new game I'll use it. It says you can't be married to her if installing during an existing game. One more to add to the list of "when I start a new game" mods! Eventually, There will be more of those than there are currently installed mods. At that point I may start over. At least I now know about the mod. Truly, thank you for the info.
Relativelybest
Tried to play as a werewolf once or twice. Didn't like the way it actually made me weaker, as opposed to stronger, which is sorta the whole point. I could see it be somewhat useful very early in the game, but once you have good weapons and armor, and have invested heavily in the combat perks, it's sort of a downgrade to throw it all off and start clawing people. Rethrain
Well, with the stock game, I'd say..never transform. It's simply wanting. Add mods to the mix and things change..dependent on whatever tweaks of course. But...Bethesda does have a history of always doing the Vampire/Lycanthrope kinda lackluster. HalloweenWeed
When Bethesda first introduced werewolves (I don't think it was at launch, not certain though), they were somewhat OP. Then they nerfed them in a patch. Don't care myself though. Funny, the same thing happened in ESO. Edited June 29, 2016 by HalloweenWeed
LeddBate
You can use Amazing Follower Tweaks on any existing game. it has full Werewolf support. You can "program" Aela to transform under certain conditions and fight in certain styles.
phantompally76
Vanilla/Dawnguard werewolves are incredibly strong if set up correctly. There's a really good guide on YouTube that explains it; do a search for "Skyrim: The Strongest Build Guide". I don't know if it's really the "strongest" build out there, but it's the only method I've ever used that was enjoyable on Master difficulty without using crafting exploits or mods. You're certainly not invincible, and you're only OP once per day, but it's absolutely effective, it gives gameplay a sense of urgency, and you don't need any mods or exploits to achieve it. I've never tested it with unofficial patches though, so I don't know if it works with those. All that said, that is really lame that Aela doesn't wolf out with you.
