Ok folks we've just released version 0.12.2 which is a bug fix update. If you were having trouble running NMM before, please try now.

NMM should inform you if there's a new version when you run it, and offer to download and install it as well (saves you going to a specific page for every update).

If you have installed NMM and it crashes before allowing you to auto-update please go to the open beta page and use the download button. No need to uninstall your current copy, just go through the setup process again and you'll get the latest version.

I'd also like to say a big thank you to everyone who has used our bug tracker. Not only that you've bothered to use it, but that you've all provided exactly the feedback and log files we've needed. It makes a tremendous difference when the bug reports we get have exactly what we need to tell us what's wrong so we can fix it. So a big thank you again :)

I have a question about this manager pertaining to its connection with the nexus sites. The nexus sites have several rules and restrictions, banning the posting of, or even discussion, of several mods and mod types. Although this is understandable, I do hope that the NMM will be more than just a tool for only nexus mods to use, as previous mod managers in the past. If this holds to be true, please tell me that nexus policies stay strictly on the nexus sites, and do not follow into the NMM. Or in other words, the NMM will not have any sort of detection function for mods banned by the nexus, which will result in some sort of negative action, will it?

I apologize if this question has been asked and answered elsewhere.

You can use NMM to install mods not hosted on the Nexus but doing so will (obviously) mean any functionality that relies on the Nexus sites won't work. So checking your file version with the latest version on the site, for example, won't work on mods from other sites.

We're not monitoring what mods you have installed, where you get your mods, how you get them, etc.. It's one of the beauties of making this program open source. You, or someone with the skills or time, can verify this so you don't even need to take my word for it.

"Install log has not updated" then it crashes for me. I tried loading it again then this time "Something bad has happened, as long as...etc." Any help? Oh and this was with FNV.

If you're using the latest version (0.12.2) then please post your bug, along with the crashdump file, in the bug tracker so we can fix it for you :)

I came across a big problem with this. I installed this to manage Skyrim mods and checked so the game changer dialog doesn't come up. I was thinking that I had New Vegas installed so I switched to New Vegas and then I found out it wasn't installed and now I am stuck with the menu to select New Vegas and can't get back to Skyrim even if I restart the program. I tried uninstalling it and looked for any registry entries for the program I could find and deleted them but when I reinstall it still comes right back to the installation folder selection for New Vegas.
