Is curse trying to fight with nexus over modding scene

Curse have no interest in the community, modders or users, they are there to line their pockets through other peoples work.

Exactly, Curse is no different then a torrent site that that sells you ratio packages under the excuse 'it costs a fortune to run out servers for you, buy more ratio to DL more/faster).

This has been the impression I've gotten from Curse.

I find it ironic that you two as Premium members are saying this...

It's not ironic at all. Curse are so obviously ignorant about modding, they are full of s*** about what they are claiming their mod client can do, they have no idea about making mods and didn't really think their competition out in terms of there is not even an editor yet, and they are spam advertising on this forum, PMing mod authors to join their site dangling the impression they are going to be earning $$$ but you probably wouldn't really, and once that got shut down, they started a new account disregarding this sites wishes and mod authors and just continued, Their threads on the Bethsoft forums advertising are always locked,

as opposed to this site, while very strict, the site owner isn't a muggle in terms of modding. It's open and honest, everything gets run past and cleared by the community of both modders and users. It's pretty much the opposite of these sorts of jacked up mod sites.

Being a premium member it is about supporting the site, so it can be run and maintained, and not about giving money to some site so they can feel up their pockets.

I have used curse a lot since I played wow and rift a lot so I know what I am talking about.

They are all about money.

Example:" Check those addons, those are requirements for you if you want to play the game properly" and so on.

They want the views to get the money from advertisements and not to help people like here.

There is different attitude here and on curse.

Here people are trying to help each other. Even if you do not know something you are not called a noob, people are trying to explain the thing in peaceful manner and there they are calling you a dumb or troll and not speaking to you.

That is the difference.

Well i think its healthy competition. I like that as im sure anyone has complaints about the Nexus dying quite often...

Not saying i would ever support Curse but Nexus can use some improvements.

I donated to help with the running of the site, not to line the pockets of investors.

It's another mod site. Obviously seen as a threat to other modding sites, but more choice can only be seen as positive to the users. Either way I plan on uploading my Skyrim mods to it (and here and Planet Elder Scrolls) when I've got anything worthwhile to upload. Edited by Maskar
