Nvidia Contest Joke

As for broken rules, well we will see what will happen at the end of the contest. We should wait until the thing is ended. Then we can see if there is things to complain about.

No. We should not. Doing so would mean that everyone agrees that the contest is legit, and right now it simply isn't because there's at least one guaranteed fraudulent entry submitted by someone who had nothing to do with the mod.

Agreed. Best to take action while there's still a chance of fixing it, rather than leaving the contest runners with no options other than accepting or rejecting a fraudulent win.

There's solid evidence to suggest there's also a second one there that wasn't authorized.

There's a 3rd mod with content in it that violates the provisions of what was allowed (and isn't even allowed on Bethesda.net to boot).

This contest is a farce simply because of the stolen content being voted on and the rules violations by the sponsoring company. Allowing prizes to be awarded before anyone complains is flat out ludicrous and it would be too late by then because nVidia will have no reason to want to correct this at that point.

I assume the 3rd mod you're referring to would be mine? A Cannibal in Concord? In the rules (combined with Bethesda.net) it says nudity, sexual or racial slurs, pornographic material, and or violent acts towards children. The quotes I used from the real life cannibal does reference sex and killing children (since those were his preferred victims). But they don't go in explicit detail, have any form of material aside from a few words in text, nor lets you preform any of those actions. Where as, I've seen mods removed from Bethesda.net that either feature said material such as textures, or performing those acts (like killing children). My mod has been up on Bethesda.net for quite some time and hasn't been removed.

Of course, I could be completely wrong and those few lines of text could very well break the rules. But I honestly don't think so, which is why I uploaded it to Bethesda.net to begin with.

What happens if Pew wins the grand prize? Since it states the grand winner will "-have NVIDIA engineering support for their Mod creation." Does that mean they will offer up NVIDIA's services in helping him to further build the pew pew mod?

Lol. This whole thing, is so god damn stupid. I am actually glad that I ran into health issues and didn't complete what I wanted to enter, as it wouldve lost to this horse s*** and caused me to get really, really mad.

wait a min. modern firearms needs to win then. think about it for a sec. they (nvidia) can help with the weapon animations. it would solve our weapon animation issue pretty effectively.

Wow, well I'm surprised by the activity in this thread, I really thought that there would be just a few posts and it would die out.

I should point out that Bethesda is a sponsor of this event and in no way engineered anything that happens as a result of it. They are just putting the prizes up for Nvidia and so Bethesda shouldn't be judged upon this.

We should also refrain from any argument between each other, I was just recently in an argument online with Sephichrode about the approach taken with dealing in this issue to which I realised. f*#@, they're ignoring u and so we are turning on each other because there's no one around to blame.

I think everyone agrees here that there is an obvious problem and they have not followed their own T&C's. I currently await correspondence from a lawyer in Santa Clara and 2 from Delaware. They should shine some light on the whole subject and what might be a good course of action.

I have also got a line open with Nvidia currently and expect them to reply to me within the next 24 hours.

I apologise to those who did work hard on their mods and are being dragged down in this, the most prime example is Elianora whose got a great mod that literally deserves the recognition it's getting. I may not agree with your political views in the past with Bethesda but damn I respect you completely.

As a side note.. the Cannibal mod is a quest and thus in the wrong section, regardless if you want to argue about pornographic materials/references.

I will come back soon and update everyone on the lawyer situation, and the Nvidia situation. In the mean time I suggest continue voting and continue trending this and gain exposure. In the event nothing can be done, I give my pre-congratulations to Elianora who is about to spend $10,000 on Nescafe.

Thank you for doing the heavy lifting. I've reached out to a few writers to see if they can cover what is going on.

I don't think you broke any rules. The game literally in the sense of the word literal has a cannibal perk, and there is a lot of dead meat ragdolling all over the place. And if someone reported you for some text containing explicit material then it is just an attempt to get you disqualified on a technicality.

Look it is not a matter of what I see as 'rightful', it is a matter of the Facts. The FACT that some mods as finalists are NOT rightfully there due to the FACT that they broke the rules. Rules which even state that breaking them will result in disqualification.

You are complaining about everyone and calling them drama queens, attack the topic not the people. Your attitude is not helpful and just making matters worst. If you don't like that people are complaining about the issues, instead of complaining at them complaining and insulting them, why not just move along.

You are just angry that I am dismantling your line of argument. Also, stand your own ground when arguing with someone. All you do is try to organize public opinion against me because, heavens forbid, I am not agreeing with you.

Your answer here actually makes no sense quite frankly. I was standing my ground, I am not angry as the last thing you are doing is 'dismantling my argument', you actually have not even addressed my 'argument'. If you see my logical points as 'organizing public opinion against you' then that is your problem and definitely more then a little tin foil hat territory. Also from some of your posts I don't actually even need to try and gather public opinion on that. You came into this thread slinging insults at a time when it was the last thing needed and I asked you to stop, instead you descend into this pointless back and forth....

I have no idea where you are coming up with this crap, I can only assume you have no actual rebuttal to my points so resort to nonsensical insults yourself.

I completely agree here. This is not just an average contest, there is a LOT of money at stake here.

I'm quite frustrated that the voting UI is so terrible that I accidentally voted for someone else's mod I did not intend to. The voting buttons have no cursor change indicating you can use them to vote. Not to mention that clicking on the arrow for Faction Housing Overhaul did literally nothing, but clicking on another arrow in the same row gave my vote to that one. I'm glad that the one I intended to vote for has the lead. I am however furious I was forced to vote for another mod because of horrible UI design of the voting site.

I did the same. I clicked on Everyone's Best Friend, and it did nothing. Then I clicked on a several others and it was giving my vote to almost all of the finalists in that category, instead of just to one. Refreshing the page saw the numbers revert, so I assume it only registered the first vote cast for the category. I think I may have given Pew Pew my vote by mistake. :pinch:
