shuazoid
I mean, go big or go home right? I play Heavy armor and i dont see much sense in light armor. Maybe ill try it on the next char but for now i need a reason to.
phantur
Because I prefer how leather looks. And the fact that being an assassin means I can complete an entire dungeon in under 5 minutes without being touched once. Same could be said for you. Why not challenge yourself and try fighting things armourless, Go big or go home right?
Gishank
Generally cosmetic reasons, and if you are trying to go stealthy it also determins how much 'noise' you make. Yes, you can get the 'Heavy Armour' skill that removes weight/movement restriction to Heavy Armour but that's generally 'late-game'.
Halororor
Why stand around weathering their attacks, when you can just dance around them?
darkblayd
Light armor is better for those who wear armor but don't plan to specialize in it's use much. The stamina restoration perk is also not present in the heavy armor line, correct me if I'm wrong. Lets say you start a warrior and you go "Dang, I wanna dual wield and master the 1hand tree". It's really not that practical by comparison to throw on heavy armor and then not specialize into it's use. The difference between the two is not that huge, but imo heavy armor REQUIRES perks to not be annoying whereas light armor really doesn't, and that makes sense when you think about it. WarKirby3333
as far as i can tell, heavy armor makes you move slower and drains stamina faster. it also causes you to make more noise when trying to sneak plus it weighs a lot more, meaning you can't carry as much stuff. Ghogiel
as far as i can tell, heavy armor makes you move slower and drains stamina faster. it also causes you to make more noise when trying to sneak plus it weighs a lot more, meaning you can't carry as much stuff.Basically that imo. There is a late perk that negates heavy armor weight and encumbrance though.
Tropxe
I think the advantages of light armour aren't really pronounced enough, that's for sure, but when you get to the point in a heavy armour character where you're losing the disadvantages, you should be getting to the point in a stealth character where you don't even need any armour at all. I've been killing frost dragons in my fine clothes and chef hat for a while now. However, there's light armour that has added affects that are far more suited to a stealth character, and that justifies it, like double backstab damage (so you can do x30 damage with daggers). Raddra
Certain gear you can find, cosmetics (looks better) is not annoying for a good deal of the game, move faster and get stamina regen bonuses.. and I think that with smithing you can end up with capped DR with it anyhow too. So its all your choice. Edited November 19, 2011 by Raddra
