Did you kill Paarthurnax?

Blades/Killing Paarthrunax: The blades did help the dragonborn on his quest to defeat Alduin, but they didn't care about what the Dragonborn wanted. In my plathrough the Dragonborn trusted Paarthrunax and the Blades weren't willing to respect his wishes, therefor not truly serving the Dragonborn, but moreso his destiny through their methods.

Greybeards/Sparing Paarthurnax: The Greybeards were the more reasonable faction. They summoned the Dragonborn to High Hrothgar and tought him/her the power of the Thuum. Before teaching him/her everything, he/she had to go through a trial, which is reasonable imo. Paarthrunax commited serious crimes to humanity, but I feel like he's redeemed himself. I feel like if Paarthurnax truly was evil, he would've risen to power as soon as Alduin was sent through time. Unlike the Greybeards and the Blades, Paarthurnax never hid anything from the Dragonborn, being completely honest with him.

Long story short, I can't kill Paarthurnax without feeling extremely guilty.

Also, not only has Paarthurnax redeemed himself through his actions in TESV but long before that in the chronology of the story since he's pretty much the prime reason mankind still exists - and to do that, he had to betray his brother...that's pretty strong IMO.

Well, Delphine is hardly a cow. She's really skinny. I liked her at first and thought she was cool.

Rofl... That made me laugh right there! :teehee:

I have yet to kill him and I am not intending to ever. I see no point to it really and no beneficial gain other than those two saps continuing to assist me? As if I needed any assistance. Psh! Where were they when I was fighting Alduin with real heroes? Hanging out in the Blades Sanctuary eating sweet rolls? Yesssss. Dovahkin is something they should respect more than their own personal agenda in my opinion. If not for You or I, they'd likely be burnt to a crisp. Respect the "Qahnaarin"!

In real life I like dogs more than most people so I suppose in Skyrim I like dragons more than I like the people.

Closing in on 900 hours played. Got around 6(?) full playthroughs of the main story. Have not once killed Paarthunax. I never liked Delphine, she's a real douche in my honest opinion. She can go shove that dragon slaying "sword" of hers where the sun doesn't shine for all I care.

Think about it this way. The Blades are Racist towards Dragons.

And I mean, why not? Dragons have so much power that their power could be used againts them, and the whole of Tamriel. But that is just assuming that they are all Evil and Powerhungry, like Alduin. With that way of thinking, they kill mercilessly any and all Dragons that appear in their front, ally or not.

That ideology is the extremist way of thinking, It's like saying (I am not meaning any sort of racism.) that because a huge percentage of the Mexicans on the US is Ilegal immigrants, they should deport them ALL, even the ones Legal. Think about it.

Yes, true, the Dragons had enslaved the people at one point in History, with a huge tyranny over them. But that is way past. It's like saying the US still hates the UK for the enslavement and tyranny they upheld with them about 200yrs ago! And the Blades think they might do it again, so they all must die.

The Blades are a bunch of haters in the end, with a little excuse that they are all evil and they all deserve to die. Paarthurnax doesn't even try to kill you, or anyone (At the present, at least) he tries to save humanity, and he must die because a bunch of haters don't like him? If I am ever given the option to kill the Blades instead, I'd take it without a 2nd doubt.

Paarthurnax helped you VASTLY more than them, and the Greybeards where the one who first recognized you as the Dragonborn. Paarthurnax does NOT deserve to die, and I did not kill him.

Cheers,

Max

I never liked or trusted Delphine. She was always condescending and self righteous, but never more so than when she's putting down the Greybeards or demanding Parthurnaax's head. Even with the Parthurnaax Dilemma mod I can't stand her, and never really bother with rebuilding the Blades. The way I see it the Blades will die with Esbern, no matter how many apprentices or lackies Delphine gathers to her before that. I like to think that once we've defeated Harkon, the Dawnguard evolve into the Dragonborn's new guardians. Let the Blades call themselves dragon hunters if they want, but I'll have nothing to do with them thanks.
