Well lets see... the humans are perfectly fine, save for some weird odds and wrinkles, which were easily fixed with Gimps' blur tool.

Argonians are awesome, though I'm disappointed that the females still have breasts when they really shouldn't.

Khajiits look cool. Now our favourite kitties can have some individual variation! Yay!

Orcs are awesome as well. No longer look like the lime green clay I made for a history class project, now they look like some ludicrously sexy beasts!

Elves, however... Bethesda made a big blunder here.

Dear God, they've made elves so ugly it's unreal. I think the way they looked in Arena/Daggerfall/Morrowind/Oblivion was perfectly fine. Why the heck did they have to go and make them look like Klingons? Seriously, those rubber forehead aliens ceased to be attractive or even remotely likeable back in the 1980's.

I'm upset. In Oblivion elven men were smoking hawt... now... well... it's the opposite.

Thankfully some talented modders fixed the issue with the wrinkles and plastic foreheads, but they still look pretty homely. I pray they release the CK soon. I need to fix this so bad. :(

I don't see much difference between Elves in Skyrim than what was in Morrowind and Oblivion really. So, either you're new to ES or?

I'm with the "Elves are better now" camp, as someone else mentioned, they appear to be a good 3D version of how Elves looked in Morrowind. I've never understood why people find "humans with pointy ears and effeminate hair" so appealing as a concept, but then I've never understood why people mod their character's appearance to the extent they look like a ludicrously big-boobed anime character either.

This thread makes no sense. Elves look fine....

For instance my Bosmer Dark Brotherhood assassin has no klingon forhead, bags under eyes etc and his face is not squished, it is pretty long. I'd rather it not be "why the long face"/horse syndromey anyways

I agree that beth has gone for a distinctive look on the elves wich is a good thing but tbh when i wanted to create an elf i wasnt able to get past that look....while i dont mind them having different shapes, their design really invokes a feeling of aliens in me.

I'm not totally pleased with the art direction for elves either. But remember they used to look like this:

Compare that to what your Oblivion elves looked like after a few mods and surely we can agree the Skyrim elves are salvageable :)

Why shouldn't they? They did in DF, MW, Ob and Skyrim. Your personal opinion conflicts with Lore.

Oblivion is the unwanted stepson doing it wrong imo elves, actually all the races nearly, were a bit butchered by oblivion.

Sort of yes. Though I have to admit I would have liked some more atention on the head and chargen. But yeah your point is valid.

I don't totaly agree with the OP, I mean dark elfs have that cool look they had back in Morrowind, wich is more than fine as far as I'm concerned. High elfs look strange and the other elf species, well I don't realy care about them. Bosmers are supposed to look stupid, at least I like them to look like that (heheheh ), anyway they are more diversed than in Oblivion.
