runicNomad
I have my update disabled and am playing offline because I wanted to make sure before patching it did not affect MODs. So where are the recent 18mb patch notes located? Its not going to be fun having to rewrite each patch to work with mods.
Handofbane
The recent patch altered one thing: Skyrim now must start with Steam, whether you use the launcher or TESV.exe directly. This broke a few mods (LAA, 4gb), but there have been a couple modders working to get fixes up as quickly as possible for it.
elvinkun
Basically there are no patch notes because there was no patch. Only making DRM more strict. Recommend keeping updates off untill the nextpatch, as the only good thing this update does is the big possibility of making your Skyrim unplayable and forcing you to reinstall / crack the game. Rabbit1251
As long as you have not updated you might wish to make a backup of your TESV.exe and keep it somewhere safe. Rabbit
runicNomad
Thanks all for the info. This is exactly Why I kept updates off and steam in offline mode. I am not all anti steam and I bought the game but it is really annoying that we have to crack or hack a game we bought for it to work right. DRM as far as I can tell has only affected people who purchase the game since crackers and pirates will do it anyway. Just like DVD movie I buy from the store that has 2 rfid tags is double wrapped in plastic and wont let me skip the FBI warning. Why choke the customer... anyway little rant there... I am sure the community will fix it all back to how it was.
raatorotta
If you want to use 4gb, use this: ENB Series It makes game use 4gb too along with graphical fixes.
Fatalmasterpiece
WOW, and just to think the other day I was thinking of how cool it was that Beth made the game playable without the disc and Steam... :/

lozzer22
Unfortunately every single texture mod that I used before the update now doesn't work, so I'm using a no steam crack for the time being, until either steam stops encoding the executable like Bethesda said they wouldn't. Or until a less frowned upon alternative is available.
