Kutt
Rumors have been circulating about a possible HD remaster of Diablo 2. When I was a kid, I was absolutely crazy for this game! I didn't much care for Diablo 3 because you were so extremely limited as to how much you could customize your character and automatically applied attribute points. If these rumors are true, then I hope they make it exactly like the original game where you can choose what points you want to add to attributes and skills after you level up. Also, they should add a HUGE stash with multiple tabs for each character to reduce the number of mule characters. http://wccftech.com/blizzard-hd-remaster-starcraft-warcraft-iii-diablo-ii/

EnaiSiaion
I didn't much care for Diablo 3 because you were so extremely limited as to how much you could customize your character and automatically applied attribute points. As opposed to Diablo 2, which had 1-2 viable builds per character and you had to spend your attribute points in a very specific way (you spent points into magic? with a sorceress? nooooob)? Diablo 2 was pretty much the poster child of the concept of "false choice".
Vakarlan
I don't think they , Blizzard fired all the original developers and created the failure called Diablo 3. Most of the D2 devs moved on to Torchlight 2, check it out if you are interested. Right now the best RPG like diablo 2 in today's games is Path Of Exile. I played it for over 3 years, it has been one of the best games I played during my teen years.
Dark0ne
Right now the best RPG like diablo 2 in today's games is Path Of Exile I put about 500 hours in to POE, and just recently started playing Grim Dawn. I think POE is great, but I'd say Grim Dawn is a much closer spiritual successor to Diablo 2. If you want a great ARPG, play POE. If you want a great APRG that is like Diablo 2, play Grim Dawn. I think POE is great, but I'd say Grim Dawn is a much closer spiritual successor to Diablo 2. If you want a great ARPG, play POE. If you want a great APRG that is like Diablo 2, play Grim Dawn. I have quite opposite opinion, also played both.I can't stand PoE because I'm used to good old class system, and how PoE does it is pretty innovative but for me it's some brutal clusterf*** of skills and item utilities. There are also few issues, mainly with F2P status, but not really worth mentioning. Visuals and setting is pretty good though. Grim Dawn is also very lacking as ARPG, character development is very restrictive, every class has tons and tons of passives (along with devotions + item utilities) but very few active skills, so you basically develop 2-3 active skill character + system works in the way that it's basically pushing you for hybrid class, which if you don't go for will cut down your stats pretty hard and at the same time drains lots of skill points which you already lacking. There are some possibilities of builds with more actives, but they are very few and awkward in gameplay IMO. Mood and atmosphere is truly old Diablo-ish which is great. At the moment there are basically no decent ARPGs out there, I won't go in detail about issues with D3 and why it's shallow, I think everyone is pretty much aware, but at this point if Bliz would make Diablo 2 remake, or even better - porting it on 3d engine - this would have fantastic success among many ARPG fans. Eronon
They should just make Diablo 4 and then ignore what they did in 3 like it didn't happen.
Signette
They should just make Diablo 4 and then ignore what they did in 3 like it didn't happen. I bet they will, 10-15 years later or so...

The stupid thing is it is guaranteed profit so you can see how there is some suspcious decision making by the executives.
Beriallord
Grim Dawn is the best new ARPG I've played in years. Far more customization options than D2, and way more balanced than Titan Quest. I've got over 200hrs in it and I almost never put 200hrs in any game. Even identical dual class builds can be quite a bit different. Different focus on damage types, skills, as well as different devotion combinations, and gear focus. I've got 3 different variations of Warder, 3 different Sorcerer builds, each using different skills, stats, devotions, and gear. The crucible added another layer of depth to the game. Builds that players could face roll the regular game with get annihilated in crucible, unless they adapt. Grim Dawn is a really fair game challenge wise, there are no 1hko no matter what attacks. And every class combo can build defensively enough to not be 1hko'd. And still be offensively viable. The only ARPG with even close to that kind of depth is Path of Exile. And I've played most of the genre to end game. Edited October 6, 2016 by Beriallord
