Forum searches for info within a mod

search terms .... I type aaaa bbb cccc and get hits on all the words. Ok.

I type "aaaa bbbb cccc" and same.

I type aaaa and bbbb and cccc and not better.

Actually, we can do better.

Please support use of specific search strings.

Please post search help file as a readily identifiable menu item.

Thanks!

Since you've conflated the Nexus "Forums" sites with the Nexus "Mods" sites, not sure what you're trying to say.

These are two very distinct areas of the Nexus, and the techniques and tools used on one may-or-may-not be applicable to the other.

Please clarify if you expect a more useful response. :ermm:

At risk of running afoul of the same alleged distinction... Since this forum section bills itself as the place to submit feedback or suggestions for "nexus sites":

There are many links in the descriptions of older mods (e.g, Oblivion), which attempt to reference other mods, required resources, etc - but unfortunately they use www.tessource.net which of course is now defunct. Might I suggest a server-side 'Search-and-Replace' from "http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id="\d{1,6} to "http://"+subsite+".nexusmods.com/mods/"\1? Please excuse my amateur pseudocode, but what I'm getting at, is that 95-99% of the time, tessource links on http://oblivion.nexusmods.com are attempting to link to oblivion mods, 95-99% of the same on http://morrowind.nexusmods.com will be attempting to reference a Morrowind mod, and so on. Not foolproof, sure - but fixing 9 out of 10 broken links with an operation that would take probably an hour or two of a server operator's time (and say a few hours at low priority of the servers' time) seems a decent cost-benefit tradeoff.

Example:

http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=13007

referenced on this page:

http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/12996/

should point to:

http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/13007

-- and easily half of the Morrowind files have a similarly broken link, though most of that is just self-references in the first 'post' - still, if it's relatively easy to fix...

Thought it might be worth throwing that out there.

Since this is my first post, I would also just like to say Thank You to everyone who helps makes this community great!

Kind regards,

- Gliktch

@Gliktchy: Some years ago, the name changed from Tessource to Nexusmods. For the first 7 or 8 years, we specialized in Tes ( The Elder Scrolls ) mods exclusively - Then added Fallout3 - now we support 23 games, and not are all Bethesda. We fix those old Tessource links when we find them. Over the years we have done quite a few - You must be looking at some not very popular older mods to find them now.

As for a full site search, Limiting the search to just Morrowind, Oblivion & Fallout3 would bring it down to just short of 45,000 files. That would take a while. :pinch:

Just let us know when you find one that hasn't been changed yet.

@Deathsychte94;

a) See this topic about changing one's username.

b) Based on what I think you intended, your "corrected" username would get your account banned as inappropriate.

So choose wisely.

This is a comment made in regards the Skyrim site specifically, but it probably applies to other sites as well.

In the Skyrim website, when browsing a category of files (say armour) when you get to the bottom of the page (of files) and use the # button, or the > button to get the next page of files, the scroll bar (on the far right) only returns up as far as the lowest item in the right-hand column. (The 'search' column.) This can be less than halfway back to the top of the scroll bar. I know that it is only a minor irritant, but seeing as you have gotten most of the major irritants under control, perhaps you could give a wee bit of attention to this one? There are 106 pages of armor files, so that is 105 times one has to move the scroll bar back up to the top to resume browsing the next page of files... And that is but one category.

Site feedback: Getting worse as time goes on. More bad gateway errors, slow load times, frequent need to constantly reload pages because the sub sections dont load.

What the hell guys?

Oh and NMM is worse than ever as well. crashes on downloads, crashes on installing mods, crashes on uninstalling mods

Soon as I get all the mods I want I am done with you guys.

I can't get into the chat 'room.' I seen it once, the first time I tried, but then it said "disconnected" at the bottom of the messages. I didn't even have time to listen, watch, or post a chat message. Now it won't even let me in the chat 'room,' says "You do not have access to our chat room." What is the problem?

I have laggy Satellite Internet service and I hope that is not the issue - almost 1000ms ping times.

EDIT: Using FF 22.0
