I've never seen so much whingeing about something in my whole life.

Skyrim isn't your product. You have no ownership of it.

Beth are in the market to make money and satisfy their shareholders.

Bottom line.

If you don't like their products, don't buy them. If you've already got it go back to the store for a refund.

If you can't get one then caveat emptor.

What if Beth comes out with an amazing, free DLC that adds new content, fixes all glitches and bugs, adds new quests, improved graphics, and better memory support 3 months from now? Oh crap. I signed a petition. Now I can't get it? LAWL.

I'm sorry you had to wait a little longer to play your game by going through steam. I'm sorry that the ninja patch, which is easy to revert, has made you angry enough to boycott a company.

It's not your game. Sure, your new car has some issues and needs some servicing at the dealership. But it's under warranty. Doesn't mean you have to try and shut down the manufacturer.

What I'm saying is...

Oh I think they do, Jaypaul97, I mentioned Nexus at least four times in my PM to Gstaff earlier today. (See the thread about the CK.)

And please people, stop using derogatory terms about the OP. Fanboys apart, there is a large body of opinion that although we love Bethesda games (1) They are always buggy and that Skyrims bugs are particularly serious, and (2)That we do not want Steam involved with the modding side, is bad enough having to use it with the game at all.

The OP may be going the wrong way about it, but Bethesda do have a case to answer, so to speak. And to be fair, if asked a direct question politely enough, as I did earlier, may well give a quick answer.

ow I'm not saying you shouldn't do a petition, just make it more profesional and if you telling fans not to buy the sites owner's products your gonna get booted. Their a company don't forget.

I agree completely and advise you to listen to what "stumpndum" said. The points you are making are somehow a "nuisance" and I will not argue there but the way you are making your arguments puts you in Danger not to be considered a "serious Gamer" but a Troll or Flamer. We all know those types are best avoided.

I know how frustrated you are though. If it is any help, let me tell you something.

Gaming once was a niche product. It was something a "few" Nerds were doing before they were known as Nerds. Nearly everyone who played games at that time knew very much about Computers and knew nothing or less about Marketing and "Business". So games were made for fun only.

Now we have a ridiculously big Market for gaming. Thanks to Consoles, which are a blessing if you know (and dont want to know) nothing about Computers, nearly everyone can play Games now. This is of course a huge Market and whenever a huge Market is created, Businessmen, Marketing experts, Stockholders etc. are not far away. Unfortunately rules, laws, terms, agreements, licenses etc. follow close behind. For many people this will be of no concern but for those "few" that were "unlucky" enough to be gaming enthusiast, this will be a catastrophe.

I am one of the "early Gamers". When I see today how Games are overhyped, how Publishers are treated like Gods or worse Rockstars, how the Freedom of Gamers are taken away bit by bit, how Gamers support and defend technologies that effectively binds them and make them spend money for "every Pixel", well I can only shake my head in disbelief and bitter resignation.

Gaming is now "IN". That means that a lot people will attend and speak without knowing about it. My Nephew 16 years old, not the brightest Star when it comes to Computers (he is good with the girls though), said to his friend while I was around "Multiplayer in Gaming is not possible without Steam". I corrected him but the damage is done.

However, enthusiastic gamers will find a way though. They will create a new niche for themselves. Maybe indie Games maybe something else but they will find a way. Thats natures law. In Germany they say "Where there is a Will, there is a Way". We have the Will we will find the Way!

People come here to talk about playing Skyrim and the mods for said game, are you really surprised you got blocked for preaching to those who love it about how much you hate it? Edited by Vindekarr

I'm no huge fan of Steam either. If you buy a game retail, you usually pay extra money - you shouldn't have to have an online connection. If they are concerned about piracy and need Steam to DRM it, then why do we have to enter a product ID #? makes no sense.

if they start charging for mods, they will spell their own end. virtually all PCers, I suspect, will simply stop buying the game, b/c they aren't playing it without mods and they ain't gonna pay for them, at least, not unless the money goes to the mod makers who built this community. PC gamers might not be the huge market group, but they are the fanatical ones that build this franchise.

Finally, steam's practice of auto-updating DESPITE THEIR OWN SETTING, is totally infuriating and broke my game of FNV b/c it was bugged and I got no support either. Very irritating and Beth, that's why I never bought any DLCs for it, even though I couldn't wait for them to come out.

Be that as it may, no one is going to listen to us, but I hope you succeed in getting their attention.
