Sarathoria
what use is this perk: Conjuration Dual Casting - (20)Dual casting a Conjuration spell overcharges the spell, allowing it to last longer. Storm Atronach - (Expert | Mana 284)Summons a Storm Atronach for 60sec (If you summon with a dual cast x2 60sec so 120sec summon ) pair that with.... Atromancy - (40)Double summon duration for conjured Atronachs.= 4Min Summon. Until you get Storm Thrall, then those perks are almost pointless, but I guess you have to get it to be able to obtain twin souls. Yes in theory the points are useless at some point. Same however can be said for all the people who maxed out smithing / alch /enchanting just so they can make some GOD gear and then run around with all those crafting points wasted. It is a means to an end.

It's just a wasted perk. Edited December 6, 2011 by Ghogiel
Kardgar
I'm not sure how this is a lightning mage build. Yes it does have lightning but it also has every other spell school. It would be an all-rounder. Dropping lots of resto perks and only go to apprentice, then switching over to the twin souls perk gets you two dremora lords which trumps anything. You can cast thunder or whatever you want if you get bored, but its unnecessary with the dremora, so is mana regen and practically anything else. I mean for the sake of just having all schools high level you can do this, but I don't understand what makes this unique. I'm all for making unique builds for fun or trying weird stuff. I'm doing an Illusion, Alteration Build now with no offensive skill, using only staves with the exception of Illusions frenzy etc. It's been fun and quirky. Picking all schools and limited a couple of destruction perks doesn't really define this build.
SilusCrow
Lack of the Master level Lightning spell makes me a sad panda. With -100% casting cost for Destruction (not really that hard with a good enchanting score and perks), and a brief casting time, you have a Wave Motion Gun type spell that lasts as long as you hold down the fire button. Does take a quest to get however....

( Rather obvious I thought )The other schools of magic are there for utility. You could certainly make a build that is just destro..... but I think that would get rather boring fast.Being able to heal yourself, CC mobs, and do dmg is the concept of this build.
justwannaddl
Dual casting is good for Dremora Lords since you cannot permanently summon them. I find they work as the best tanks because of their aggressive melee style and small size. Doesn't quite fit the lightening mage archetype though. Crimzin
Coming from an Arch-mage of 100 in every magic school and has every perk that's useful in the mage trees. You are vastly underestimating the power of alchemy, enchanting, and smithing. You may be a mage but a bow or a single-handed sword are better use of your time when you're out-of-mana. The bound weapons are bad if you have access to endless Ebony weapons or Daedric weapons.
