Rabbit1251
Yeah, we're all have a great deal of fun running around New England kicking Super Mutant butt. But what if Fallout were not a game but the real thing? Here are several occasions when Fallout almost happened. The Cuban Missile Crises. We all know of the Cuban Missile Crises (if you're not then shame on you). In October of 1962 the Primer of the Soviet Union sent ships laden with nuclear missiles to their allies in Communist Cuba for deployment. The United States under President John F. Kennedy learned of the Soviet deployment and instituted a military blockade of Cuban ports. After negotiations between the two leaders the ships were turned around and I'm pleased to say that I'm here today to write this.(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_Missile_Crisis) The 1967 Solar Storm. In May of 1967 the United States had all three of it's Ballistic Missile Radar Sites knocked out leaving the country blind to enemy attack. Assuming that this was a Prelude to War orchestrated by the Soviet Union America prepared for war in the little time left to her. Fortunately Air Force Meteorologists at NORAD using new, and little known, information determined that the radar failure was caused not by the Soviets, but by a Solar Storm that was bombarding Earth with strong Solar Flares. Once again your intrepid reporter was saved to see the year 2000.(http://www.livescience.com/55721-solar-storm-cold-war-false-alarm.html) The Soviet Nuclear False Alarm Incident. Have you ever seen the movie "WarGames"? Something similar happened in September of 1983 when Computer Technician Stanislav Yevgrafovich Petrov obseved on his tracking computer two instances of a nuclear strike originating from the United States to the Soviet Union. Petrov used his common sense and logic in identifying this information as a false computer error and did not report it to those whose hands rested on the deadly Red Buttons once again permitting me to pen this.(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WarGames) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1983_Soviet_nuclear_false_alarm_incident) The Non-Radioactive Rabbit
Turelek
It is not nearly as known as the first listed, but here is another recent incident as well: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norwegian_rocket_incident Edited September 26, 2016 by Turelek
DoctorKaizeld
What if we already went through a nuclear apocalypse several thousand years ago?
bmt12
Nah, a nuclear apocalypse without the suspension of the laws of physics and super fast working non-cancer forming mutation just wouldn't be the same.
DoctorKaizeld
But... Fallout doesnt break the laws of physics much outside of game mechanics and limitations
