Screwball127
Not FoundThe requested URL /downloads/file/download.php was not found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.I'm getting this for any file I try to download. Was working fine the other day. Anyone else seeing this? Example URL http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file/download.php?id=19511 [edit] Problem is caused by having JavaScript blocked. Site should be fixed so that it functions in an acceptable manner whether JS is enabled or not. [/edit]
Dark0ne
Just unblock TESNexus from your javascript blocker? This site makes extensive use of javascript and AJAX. Coding for those people who like to disable ads, or be overzealous in their blanket blocking of sites is not really in my best interest. Obviously that's my prerogative. Coding for those people who like to disable ads, or be overzealous in their blanket blocking of sites is not really in my best interest. Obviously that's my prerogative. The point I was making was that I should never be presented with what is essentially a "server error". A properly constructed page informing me that I need JS enabled to perform the requested function (in this case a download) would be infinitely preferable. Thanks for the reply. Dark0ne
This is a 404 error caused because, since you have JS disabled, the file location doesn't exist. 404 errors encompass missing files, not disabled JS.

Then fix the links - either so they do what they are intended to do or they direct you to a page which tells you why they don't. You obviously care more about your advertising revenue than about your user's experience when visiting your site.Congratulations - you just lost a user. <end of thread>
Dark0ne
Indeed, I care about advertising revenue as without it the site would not exist. I care greatly about the user experience on the site, but I care very little for those people wishing to circumvent the advertising on the site. The people that do block ads/javascript do so at their own risk and I don't feel it's my responsiblity to cater to their needs, as clearly they are not catering to the needs of the site and are simply leeches on the system. I could easily block such people from using the site but don't. I think that's enough :) Off you go now.
