DeadSpace
That shouldn't have any problems with it, it'll look a lot better than it will on some ageing console and you'll be able to mod it, it's a no brainer. Time to wheel this out again. http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/2128/pcgamingmasterracef.jpg love that ^_^ zero punctuation? @ 'pc's are too expensive :psyduck: 'decent gaming rig less than $500, avg xbox $200 ($160-$255) avg ps3 $225 ($190-$275) so yea...consoles are cheaper...but save a little and you could have something 100x better. that isn't so limited in what it can do and can be upgraded. caveat, if you build it yourself...which is easy. but some clearance sales open box, etc, i've seen through newegg, , decent systems for under $500...so the pc is too expensive argument only flies if the people who use consoles can't do math or don't have the patience to save for something better...another reason to go PC~~> free calculator on every pc OS they might use >.> (PC's don't have anything to help with patience)
JimboUK
I don't think the cost difference is that great, those who opt for a console will still need to buy a PC/Laptop if they want to use the internet where as a gaming PC does all that in one. These days you can throw a £150 card in just about any modern PC and have something that will leave the current generation of consoles in the dust. Ghogiel
You can get 5830's for under £75, not great, but nearly will max out skyrim.
CelerasRingor
I bought an ASUS laptop that was refurbished and after one year, 6 keys (Esc, F1, F2, 2, W, and E) have stopped working. You can imagine how much of a problem this is for me since Esc, 2, W, and E are all keys that I use regularly in games. Also, ive had to repair my power adapter a few times because while im playing games I always take out the battery and just have it plugged in. The headphone jack is also messed up :( I guess I just have bad luck. However, if that is all you can afford I say go for it because most of the time you can get a new keyboard and power chord for cheap. The mods alone outweigh the cons for me. natelovesyou
Everyone knows PC is better, but you don't have to be a dick about it.Wait, who was that addressed towards? It was right after my post...just checking.
Sabatasso
Since you are on modding site... PC. Xbox is for simpletons.*cough*Seriously tho, Skyrim with low settings, developer console and modding will always be better than anything Xbox can offer. I agree, PC low settings are still visually better than XBOX, so there are no viable reasons for playing on console if you have a choice on the matter to be honest. Skyrim with default textures is not a heavy game, and you can enable self shadowing and find 1024 texture packs that is much better than vanilla and not noticing anything on the framerate. tazmo
I started off gaming on PC, but the missus (luv her..!) got me a PS3 last xmas and i have played a few games on it to say the least, the best being Red Dead Redemption, absouluteley superb, and being a biker i use it for motogp and world superbike games. But there are just games taht must be played on the PC for pure visual beauty, Oblivion, Deus EX, Skyrim, ( played Oblivion second time around on the PS and it just didnt look so good).Basically Skyrim is a flawed game and as usual the developer has released it full of bugs and not that realistic when it counts, but the superb modding community as is here on Nexus (congrats and thanks to all you guys) to make gaming skyrim a satisfying, sometimes funny and in my experience sometimes suprising and scary experience. You will be missing out on this if you go for the Xbox, I have seen Skyrim on my mates and it is only about 60% visually stunning as the PC version.Thats basically why i bought Skyrim for the PC so that i could make the modding changes to suit my gaming style and requirementsThat's my twopennerth Stormbringer
Notakun
I hope i didn't cause an argument because of my thread. Personally, I believe in preferences myself, but mods are good for PC, while consoles enjoy the good ol sofa/big screen.
