Do you intend to keep the current RAM sticks in there or are you willing to swap them out for higher capacity modules?

my current budget is about $ 100. Ram is basically plug and play, right? Could I just add the new RAM, then replace the old ones when I get fund for more? If I understand ram correctly, I should have multiple free slots for it, right? Edited by tm2dragon

You should currently have 2 open slots for more RAM. The problem is that if you keep the current sticks in there, you'll have to get more sticks that run at the same frequency. In your case, DDR4-3000. And DDR4-3000 RAM is expensive. I would sell your current sticks (You should get about $50 out of it) and get these. Despite the lower clock frequency, you won't notice any difference when it comes to gaming.

If he already has 16gb of RAM, there is zero benefit to be had from adding more, or upgrading to faster. If there is any performance difference at all, it won't be noticeable.
