Various Nexus related things from the Skyrim SE launch aftermath

Nexus Mod Manager 0.63.5 is designed to work with Skyrim SE. Just downloaded it, it's working great.

I understand you guys are swamped, believe me i do. but what about the mod users out there that dont really know how to manually install mods? i can install basic stuff (i.e. textures and models and sounds) but i'll admit im clueless when it comes to the animations and altering files. i really rely on NMM to work alot of the mods i love using. and i'm sure im not alone in that. just the opinion of a "novice" mod user.

Keep up the good work. This site is the only reason I still play the game. It's funny to me that the mods on this site are better programmed than the game itself...

NMM can still "install" the mod for you. All you need to do is download the mod manually, locate it in your downloaded folder. Open NMM and then drag and drop the zip file into it. You can then install like you normally would via the manager.

With the release of SSE it is now clear as I feared that a number of older mods will not run on SSE in spite of official statements that most older mods would just work (which, as a professional programmer I never believed). If I missed news answering these questions I apologize but so far I have been unable to find good answers to these questions, and what info I have found has been unclear.

I would also like to take this time to thank the modding community for all their hard work. Your efforts have greatly enriched Skyrim and made it one of the best gaming experiences ever. Thank you.

However, many mod incompatibilities are mainly due to the fact that SSE is running on a 64bit engine, which SKSE is currently incompatible with due to it being 32bit. It is logical to say that many mods whom require SKSE will be compatible when SKSE is update for use with SSE - but that isnt a garuntee.

Also they never said old mods would "just work". They said at the very least ESPs would need to be resaved in the new CK. Which is true. They just didn't provide the rest of the details outline in my post in a concise way :P

I would say that if there's enough of a demand for an orphaned mod, more than likely someone is going to ask the original mod author if they can adopt it. Most mod authors don't mind, so long as they get credit for their work. I was surprised when Nuska's Ethereal Elven Overhaul was already ported over.

i have gotten a few mods (textures) to work by "manually-manually" installing them into the folders directly... i dont know how many mods that will work with, but maybe try that until the installers/.esps get redone? also... works in reverse too! i "modded" my le to use some se textures... it didnt work for all of the textures i used, but it made the females dirty without the LFF mod, AND killed all neck seams. running a potato on ultra with it too. (and yes, SSE runs on my 7 year old broken potato laptop as well... medium settings 30-40fps, im getting permission to post the fix i used on here. til then, search youtube is all im allowed to say)
