sunshinenbrick
I at least hope people can still make a (positive) difference, but perhaps it is to choose or realise you won't necessarily be 'recognised' for it because as soon as you do it can become toxic, exploding in your face - quite literally in some cases... I also think the hammer will continue to fall, and people will be certain to eventually prefer accuracy over immediacy (likely until that becomes the problem!). This is of course if we haven't completely lost our senses through lunacy and technology.
JimboUK
Ironic isn't it? we live in an age where we're overloaded with information yet facts are harder to find than ever. You just don't get it. At this point in time, many Americans would have voted for Mao if he ran on a ticket of economic nationalism and anti-immigration. Trump is an imperfect messenger for Trumpism (populism + economic nationalism + white identity politics). There is no 'lie'. This is the consequence of the past twenty years of the ideological and physical shrinking of mainstream conservatism. I may be wrong because I watched it from the other side of the pond but what I saw was one candidate talking about minorities and other stuff few care about while the other one talked about security and jobs, I'm surprised Trump didn't win by a larger margin. ezg1969
Why I voted for Donald Trump. GLENN WARD·THURSDAY, JANUARY 19, 2017 Please note this is an opinion peace. This is simply my opinion and point of view. According to Hollywood, the media and leftists groups (they are all pretty much the same), most of the people who voted for Donald Trump are racist, homophobic, stupid, closed minded, insensitive and I could continue but you get the point. They cannot accept the fact that we don’t like Obama, Clinton, Pelosi and all the rest due to actual policy differences. Yes there are some people who voted for Trump who fit the lefts stereotype, but they are the minority. A small percentage that gets the most attention from the media because it fits the medias narrative. So yes, there are some nutjobs who voted for Trump. But the left has it’s own version of those people as well and that is an entirely different discussion. I just wanted to point it out. Why am I doing this? Because the media and the left paint a false narrative about Trump supporters. I think most of the people who support and voted for Trump will for the most part, agree with me. Different people voted for him for different reasons but in general I believe for the most part I am a typical Deplorable. Now i’m going to give my personal reasons for voting for Trump and although I start with #1, there is no specific order of importance. They are all important to me. #01: For a very long time i’ve wanted someone as President who was not a career politician. I wanted someone with real world experience. Well along came Herman Caine and initially I thought he might get the job done. He didn’t. But in the 2016 election cycle we had Donald Trump, Carly Fiorina and Ben Carson. We had 3 candidates who were not career politicians and I thought that was a good thing. There were actually some good politicians running as well. Scott Walker, Rick Santorum and Ted Cruz. So for the 1st time in a very long time we actually had some good choices. So to sum up this paragraph for anyone who may not see the relevance of it, one of the reasons I voted for Trump is the fact that he’s not a career politician. #02: The Republican party is supposed to represent conservative values but for years they have failed miserably. When the time comes for their re election they make all kinds of campaign promises and tell us what we want to hear to get elected or re elected, but once it’s over it’s back to business as usual. Needless to say, Republicans have failed in large part to represent conservative values for a very long time( it goes back way before Obama). One example is they promised to cut government spending. I could give a whole lot of examples but I digress. They have not kept their promises to those who voted them in office. They do not act like conservatives (John McCain.....you and those like you need to retire from politics). They were actually putting the Republican party on a slow path to destruction and the fast track to irrelevancy. So their actions and inactions depending on the situation have a lot to do with the rise of Trump. When people like McCain and Boehner ask themselves how we ended up with Trump all they have to do is look in a mirror to see who is partially responsible. And they kept pushing people like McCain, Romney, Jeb Bush on us as presidential nominees. Yeah no, we never wanted them. So the establishment Republican party itself is partially to blame for Donald Trump. Oh yeah and lets not forget that some of them are even now out to get him even though he won the election and is about to be sworn in tomorrow. #3: I like the fact that Trump is not a career politician and that he is not politically correct. He doesn’t talk like a politician, act like a politician and most importantly he doesn’t think in political terms. If you look at his history he really is neither a Republican nor Democrat and I think that is a good thing. He does not have a political ideology. And I do realize that means that while he will probably do some things I like, he will also probably do some things I don’t like. I’m ok with that as long as he keeps his key campaign promises. Which are build the wall, drain the swamp that is D.C., stop the influx of refugees, make our military strong again and a few others. #4: I like his campaign promises. I’m not going to go into them all here, just a few key promises that I expect him to keep. A: BUILD THE WALL- We as a sovereign nation have a right to defend our borders and keep out those that we don’t want (illegals, drug dealers,etc...). One of his key promises that got him nominated over 16 other candidates and helped him defeat hillary was the promise to build the wall. And I want to clarify something. He did say Mexico would pay for it but even during his campaign he never claimed they would pay up front. Some people have the misconception that he said that and it’s just not true. If you don’t believe me, Google or YouTube it. It’s there. He said he would make them pay in other ways. One of the ways he’s talked about doing it is threatening to cut off the billions of dollars sent to Mexico by people from here each year. He could possibly do that by changing a rule under the USA Patriot ACT. There are also other ways it could be done. So while they wouldn’t pay up front. They would in directly pay for it one way or another. B: ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION- He spoke often about taking care of our illegal immigration issues. When he spoke about this issue he did not speak in politically correct terms, which I consider a good thing. He said it like it is. Yes he said that a lot of the illegals coming over here were dug dealers, murderers, rapists and all sorts or criminals. He did say that and the media pounced and ran with that all over the place. But what they only vaguely reported is that he also said there are also a lot of good, decent, hard working people trying to get here who only want to make an honest living, a better life for themselves and their families. He said he wanted to fix the system so that we could do a better job of keeping out the bad ones and letting the good ones in. And no, nothing will ever be 100% effective but every little bit helps and I believe this would make a huge difference. You see, the misconception that is the media narrative about conservatives and illegal immigration is a false one. We are not racist against people coming here, we are not insensitive but we do want to know for practical reasons who is coming here. They need a skill set that is in demand. They need a background check for a criminal history, they need a medical exam to be sure they aren’t bringing in a disease. I have just listed a few of the valid reasons that no rational person should dispute. We are not against people coming here, we just need to know who they are for practical reasons. We do sympathize and understand why they want to come here. He wants to end the anchor baby syndrome (also called jackpot babies). A pregnant woman comes to America and has a baby and that baby is automatically a citizen. No that is not right or fair to us, the actual citizens, or the people who wait in line and come here legally. Look up the 14th amendment. Every person born within the limits of the United States, and subject to their jurisdiction, is by virtue of natural law and national law a citizen of the United States. This will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers accredited to the Government of the United States, but will include every other class of persons. To end the segment on illegals I would like to point out that he has also said that he was going to start with the criminal element, as in those that have committed crimes once they arrived. Deport them and see who is left and go from there. C: REFUGEES- Contrary to what the media reports, we are sympathetic to the refugee situation. It is sad and tragic. But we cannot bring them here because they cannot be properly vetted. Way to many people with ill intent are using the situation to come here. Trump does not want them here for security reasons but he does want to help them. He wants to create safe zones close to their home location and send them the stuff they need. Food, water, clothing and shelter them and protect them. No it won’t be as comfortable for them as it would be here but we would be safer and they would get what they needed. If we could properly vet them it might be different but we can’t. For those that don’t understand why we can’t vet them properly consider this. In many countries like the U.S., canada, ect... there are records of who is who and what we have done with our lives. In places like Afghanistan, Syria, etc... that is unfortunately not the case. A terrorist could easily give a false name and get through the system and end up here. We cannot properly vet them. So while we do want to help them, we also want to use common sense and keep them over there. That is not being cold hearted, that is being practical. I have just listed 3 of his more controversial campaign promises that got him elected. And I hope I explained it in a way that people will realize that we, the people who voted for Trump, did not vote for him because we are racist, ill willed or cold hearted. We are not homophobic as the media, hollywood and the left would have you believe. We do care about others. We do feel America is the greatest country on the planet and are proud of that fact. We do want the strongest and best military. We are caring and compassionate. We are not uneducated and stupid. Just because we see something in a different way doesn’t mean we are bad people. We are tired of all the politically correct crap taken to the extremes. We are tired of being told we don’t understand the issues, we are not smart enough because we don’t have a college education. News flash.... a lot of us do. We are business owners, we have families, we are the backbone of the country and we will no longer stand by and let the left run the show. We are tired of being put down for being a Christian (those of us that are). In short, we are tired of all the crap we have had to put up with. That and what I listed above are some of the reasons Donald Trump is about to be the next president of the United States of America. In closing, Trump has a lot to live up to and we will be watching. Speaking strictly for myself, I am not one of the die hard supporters who automatically assumes he will be an awesome president. Yes I proudly voted for him but in my opinion, as I have stated from the beginning, he is a wild card and only his inner circle actually know what he intends to do. As with all things, time will tell. I pray and hope he turns out to be a good president. If not, there is always 2020. Trump has no excuse because Republicans currently control the House and Senate. If he and the Republicans do well, this will remain the case. If not.... If you like what you’ve read and think more people should read it, please share and pass it on. Especially to someone who has a misconception of a Trump supporter. Thank you.
ezg1969
I have to say i'm surprised politics is being discussed here. And to whoever came up with the idea, you do realize it's just as heated as a religious discussion (which you do not allow). But at the end of the day i'm glad because it's another avenue to get people engaged in dialogue and debate from all sides.
TheMastersSon
Well I've set my stopwatch to see how long it takes someone to dig up enough evidence of criminal behavior on Trump to start impeachment proceedings. Talk about a lack of vetting. It's only a matter of time before reactionary stupidity wins in a country, and as of tomorrow it's won in ours imo. I'm all for giving anyone a chance in the White House, but Trump's cabinet picks speak for themselves. So until he is removed from office please enjoy your Secretary of State from ExxonMobil, and Trump's other claimed drainage of the swamp. IMO if this doesn't mark the start of the end of days and the time of the Gentiles, it's sure doing one hell of an impression of it. IMO if this doesn't mark the start of the end of days and the time of the Gentiles, it's sure doing one hell of an impression of it. Unless he murdered someone or did something of that level of crime already , there is nothing by which he could be currently impeached. Most things by which you consider impeaching someone have to do with actions one would commit while holding public office. So you will just have to wait for him to do something that would meet the requirements or completely screw the country up whichever comes first. Problem for the Dems/liberals/leftists is they have bascally painted him as a bumbling clown , they have set the bar so low for him that if he succeeds at all he will probably be hailed as a hero. It just amazes me what has happened here . We know from the email leaks that the DNC/HRC Campaign and the liberal media colluded to promote a Trump candidancy with the idea of presenting an unpalatable choice to the American electorate . And it blew up in their own face , they literally became trapped in their own trap. Now all we have seen over the last 2+ months is a level of insanity to try and explain why they lost , except the very thing that explains why they lost. See they cant do that because it would be an admission of their own redundancy. I thought what happened with the GOP in 2008 had them in disarray , but this is just off the scale because no one on that side of the fence wants to look themselves in the mirror and admit we did this. This is the most entertaining politics I have ever seen in my life.
skyquest32
Well, I am pleased at Trumps inauguration as us president. He is a great man. Also a logical one. This is historic for moderns times. Not based on any one issue but seeing the big picture and what his moment stands for directly and indirectly, As a anime/manga fan, a lover of games books and art....People should know that not all of us are short sighted, and fail to see context.Trump go's on about god, but what he stands for pleases the gods as well...Of legend, and of man. More obviously its in service to creation order and beauty, which is what I serve by choice in my life, and what trumps opponent in my opinion was trying to untimely undermine.People were losing all distinction, music, movies, books were suffering since about 1993. Culture was dying. Everything was getting more or less the same as everything else. Like the corrupt society in the movie demolition man, where tocobell was the only restaurant. Heading to Richard bachman's nightmare world of ''the running man'' (book not the film).People should know that the ability to properly distinguish a thing, or identify reality and its elements, is not discrimination. If you have to delude yourself, or lie about plainly observed facts, you will know it on some level, and you do your beliefs, whatever they are, a disservice. Trump is, where it matters, for all intents and purposes, a honest man.Embrace a thing as it is, and defend the truth of what you see without assumptions. If you cant do that then you don't really believe it, and others can tell, you have no integrity. I speak of Hillary's version of politically correct, in my opinion.Trying to socially enforce a falsity or even a misrepresented truth, creates hostility in others. They see it as a hollow justification or worse. The reason its not enough is because such people don't really believe it and need to make it expected by all to feel right about it.TRYING TO FORCE PEOPLE TO SAY THEY BELIEVE WHAT IS OBVIOUS TO THE INNER MIND IS A LIE, OR FALSE DATA OUT OF CONTEXT.The only way to do this is to destroy the human ability to discern or understand aesthetics and collectively reinforce this by media and propaganda. The mind of the thinking person rebels, and the underneath of the underneath, in my opinion is a small to moderate part of what got trump elected even though hes not directly even about this sort of thing. There are of course underlining and overt political reason that overshadow this obviously....but its the undercurrent in my opinion. The hostility of the majority was reaching the breaking point, to the point it was getting irrational itself. One thing is certain, integrity and loyalty are the essence of honor, and trump understands this in my view, and it covers many sins.Beauty is truth. Order without assumption and stagnation is in service of creation and evolution. Which is divine and the divine in people. Which supports the kind of beauty you see in musics, films, games, anime/manga and such. There is a psychiatric disorder common these days where people walk into a art museum and see the works of old masters, or any object of beauty and vomit uncontrollably, like a fictional vampire confronted with a cross and the article said this was becoming a common disorder. The sort of hypocrisy I am talking about here is the reason in my view.Whats fascist is trying to force beliefs on others and ostracize or socially punish them if they don't proclaim to believe as you, in denial of plainly observed facts. To hurt there jobs and there lives. They tried to do this to him but the overriding force of the man and the movement and peoples dissatisfaction won out. Human nature, won out, in other words. The thing about the politically correct new world and all the talk of it ending, and the end of things is a lie. The truth is, the secret is: It never really existed at all. Like a fragile illusion made of spun sugar, left outside and Trump is the first rain. It only existed on faith, much like Tinkerbell, and people grew tired of clapping. Hillary's hypocritical brand of pc....Its metaphorically, a mental version of that star trek episode where Picards' kiddnapper tried to make him say, there were more lights, there, in the torture chamber than there really were...in the end he almost believed it. ..................................................................................................................... In addition everyone should be grateful to have such a regal and beautiful first lady, she has the deportment of true nobility, today she dressed like Jackie and conducted herself in a manner that would rival a countess. Moreover all in all, a first family of which the country can be proud. Edited January 20, 2017 by skyquest32

Talk about a lack of vetting. It's only a matter of time before reactionary stupidity wins in a country, and as of tomorrow it's won in ours imo.Hey that didn't take long: http://money.cnn.com/2017/01/20/news/trump-conflicts-inauguration/index.html Trump is about to make Richard Nixon look like Mother Teresa. Also, as promised, his very first executive order was to return our health care system to its former abomination of human greed: http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/20/politics/trump-signs-executive-order-on-obamacare/index.html EDIT: Almost forgot Mike Pompeo, Kansas Tea Party wacko, founder of Sentry International, an oilfield equipment company and now America's CIA Director. More "swamp drainage", apparently: http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/20/politics/chuck-schumer-mike-pompeo-vote/index.html Stupidity really is infinite punishment. LAST EDIT: In his inauguration speech today Trump yammered, "You (the American people) will never be ignored again!", on the same day he signed an executive order entirely dismantling a program supported in full or in part by 82% of the American people. In the latest Quinnipiac poll, only 18% of us wished Obamacare to be entirely repealed: http://www.pollingreport.com/health.htm With Trump taking office we really have ushered in a new era of abject amorality in our federal government imo. Time will answer this claim and I hope I'm wrong more than anyone else hopes I'm wrong. Edited January 21, 2017 by TheMastersSon
skyquest32
The majority of the people love him that will never happen...these malcontents rioting in the street, damaging property, and attacking people wont really effect anything, except to hurt themselves and undermine any credit they might have managed in the long run. This shows desperation, and weakness. Its no longer just about trump the man, its become about more. A fight to reclaim a way of life, to set wrongs right, to get our society back in order. To be able to speak freely. Watch fox news to learn why, without the propaganda. If any real problem was made for trump the side effect for these people would be horrible, and it would still do them no good. People want things in some respects like they were in the 1980's at least where politically correct notions are concerned and they will have it. 4 years? your dreaming try 8, 2 terms and a follow up of 8 more years with someone like him. The age of the dreaded pc is over. Edited January 21, 2017 by skyquest32
Aurielius
I'm old enough to know that political power run in cycles, eight years ago the progressives thought they had a lock on power that would continue for decades. They calmly proclaimed that conservatism was dead, now they are suffering from DTS (Trump Derangement Syndrome). DTS seems to evidenced by clinging to increasingly ludicrous concepts of how to change the outcome of the election. First it was the Recounts, then the Electors and now Impeachment. How you handle Victory is just as important as how you handle Defeat. It's a cautionary tale that conservatives should heed unless they want too fall into the same mental trap. Nothing stays static in a democracy, there is no such thing as a mandate that lasts in perpetuity. If the Republican's don't deliver what they promised and fritter way their time in majority, then they also will find themselves in the political wilderness wondering 'How did this happen?" Since we are all in the same boat I see no point in wishing the captain anything but success, which was the way I dealt with Obama's eight years. I may not have liked Obama's charted course but I knew our turn at the helm would come sooner or later. Again just my two cents.
