elleonblanco
For one I am not picking on Bethesda. In fact I admire them very much. But I am sure many here will agree with me in saying that they have completely earned the title Bugthesda. I wholeheartedly expect bugs in their games with every new title. Heck some of the bugs are the most entertaining part of it. Now how can you sit there with a straight face and tell all of us Beth ain't makin' any money? Skyrim was one of if not the biggest selling title of the year. If they were not making money they wouldn't still be in business. I am sure like all businesses they have profit margins they desire to hit and I hope they make their targets. Now on releasing games with the same bugs title after title I have to agree with HadtoRegister 100%. Those who do not learn from their mistakes are condemned to repeat them. They haven't learned a thing in the last 10 years from the looks of things. So in closing this letter I think we all agree to disagree and to each of us our own opinion. I really love Bethesda games and will continue to do so. This also leaves me the right to call them a nickname if the title so fits so therefore they get the name they deserve the most BUGTHESDA. :turned:
azaltan
'' If you are a dedicated customer, you know that bugs are a part of the game and will never be all fixed.'' dedicated customer you say? ahhahhahah '' Yeah, because I am totally going on a crusade to make you stop calling them what you want. Totally. Yeah. No, you missed the point.'' payroll crusade ? Edited December 30, 2011 by azaltan
HadToRegister
Go to YouTube, in the search box type in "Flying Saber Cat", enjoy almost 4 pages of videos of this glitch. Even better
macole
I guess some people don't realize that the Construction Kit is really what you are buying. Skyrim is just an example of what you can do with it. Sure, you can play the example for like 200 to 300 hours in its unmodified form with a single character...and then do it all over again with a different kind of character, but it will be the years of fun making / playing mods for it that will be what it is remembered for. Bethesda created the ultimate gaming platform of "play it how you want" LHammonds Actually you're not buying anything other than a lease agreement from Steam. Read the user agreement; you own nothing! As for as mods go, well any mod uploaded to Steam becomes Steams property and if Steam sees fit they can charge for its use. Pineapplerum
Oooh, come on guys and gals, can't we just see the glass as being half full and be thankful for that much? Come on! :woot: You know Skyrim is fun, you know you love it...just allow yourself to give a little "Yay!" And really enjoy the pleasure of having a game so cool. Okay? Can we just give it a "hip, hip, hooray!" ?
macole
Ha, the Flying Saber Cat bug nothing new to TES games. About par for the course I'd say. Just this past week I saw the same thing happen in Oblivion fighting wild pahmer in the Colovian Heights. The dying kitty was bouncing around the screen like it was high on catnip until game CTD. At least Skyrim Flying SaberCat doesn't crash that I've seen, or does it?

That's the point.Morrowind came out 2002, Oblivion came out in 2006......then Fallout 3 , FONV So, Bethesda had at least 5 years to track down that Saber Cat Bug that happens to other things in the game. (if it also happened in Morrowind then they had 8 years). That bug has shown up in oblivion, FO3, and FONV and now Skyrim. Apparently, they either don't care about the bug, or don't know how to fix it.Because if it showed up in Oblivion in 2006, it made its way into THREE more games after that. 5 years later, within a couple weeks of release, and people are still seeing that bug in Skyrim now. What's the excuse this time?

And to add to your earlier comment about the software industry 'once you buy it you're stuck with it' attitude I would go further and say that with the gaming industry and Beth in particular it is expected that you or the modding community will fix bugs, gratis. Skyrim, looks great, less filling.

JimboUK
I don't think the modders will fix it suggestion holds water. They couldn't care less about the PC, consoles are what they concentrate on and modders can't fix anything on those. I honestly think it's good old fashioned incompetence and ineptitude, on a technical level their games have been disasters from Daggerfall onwards.
