Yeah that is what I meant. The additional skins would be nice, far far down the road once the mod is completed. I concur with crawe1x, that it is a very low priority here. Not at the expense of delaying the mod in any way.

Ah, okay. I have given some vague thought to having different camos on some of the weapons - it's the sort of thing that shouldn't be too hard to do in Substance Painter - but yeah, likely something to consider later on. It may also be a bit more complicated on some of the weapons due to the way I'm using material swaps on them. E.g. to have certain parts invisible or not depending on which mods are attached. I think it should still work, but it may take more fiddling.

 

 

Anyway, generally; I ended up modelling the shell lifter in the Mossberg 590 after talking to Hitman a bit re: its animations. Hadn't planned to bother with it before since most of the time you won't see it, but hey; now it should be extra true-to-life. ;) After that I got to the UV-mapping, and I'm maybe halfway through that now. Things have been slowed down a bit due to... well, if you remember me mentioning some (agonising) dental problems recently... Basically one of my rear molars was cracked, I found out that it couldn't be saved earlier in the week, and so a couple of days ago I had to have it removed.

 

So things have been extremely unpleasant lately - but I'm healing, and work on the mod is still going on. It's a good distraction, really.

Other teeth possibly, in my case; turns out I apparently grind/clench my teeth in my sleep and that may have caused it. I do remember many months ago accidentally biting down hard on a sliver of bone, though - with that tooth, I think. That hurt a lot at the time, but then I forgot about it. Could be that that had something to do with it.

 

 

So,what're you planning on doing once you finish up the Mossberg/Tequila?

After the Mossberg I think I'll merge the M79, China Lake and Makeshift Anti-Materiel Rifle in, then do the Barrett M82. After that it'll be time to do all the plugin work; stats, etc. Then it should finally be time for the initial release.

Fantastic, can't wait to try this baby out and say goodbye to Modern Firearms. Don't get me wrong, it's a good mod, but I like this one better. Will absolutely have to use your tutorial to add the OTs-33 "Pernach" to the game, though, I can't play without it.

I'm more interested in seeing his tutorial used to give the WARS treatment to energy weapons,oversized and oddball weapons,and melee and unarmed weapons. A mod like this NEEDS companion mods like that.

 

What I cover in the tutorial is likely to be stuff I'll have already done to all the vanilla weapons in WARS - so that it all makes relative sense together. It might depend on what you consider the "WARS treatment" to be, though. What sort of things are you hoping I'll cover?

Modern firearms is still fun and at some point I imagine it could be cut down to just the guns that are not replaced by wars mod like ATG or KWK or that vulcan minigun and don't forget about m249 or m60. Would be nice to see wars mod have special parts required to make or upgrade guns like modern firearms does instead of just making things out of junk. Maybe also make the parts out of junk then make or upgrade the guns like a special workbench for parts making or just do a vending machine like they did.

I saw on the first page that you considering changing the 5mm into a low power bulk round. I renamed the 5mm into 7.62x51 and upped the damage comparable to the .308 round. Yes, it means you get super overpowered gun early on, but it is a minigun afterall and a bullet hose. A weak mingun is just something I couldn't handle.

The phrase "a weal minigun" is an oxymoron, and something that I refuse to have in my game as well.

I asked after a Masterkey a while ago,and you said it would be too much of a headache to implement. But... You already have the framework in place to implement it,at least as a weapon attached to another one. All you'd need to do is co-opt the code that makes the M203 work. It wouldn't function as a door breacher,not without (somehow) attaching the Unlock command to the pellets,but you'd have a weapon that works as an underbarrel shotgun. You'd likely be able to co-opt the Mossberg animations,too.

 

Just a thought.
