Athanasa Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 (edited) Try to...1. Spell the title correctly - you cannot edit it after2. dont type ur titl or post lik this3. Try to format your ideas in a clear, logical order. 4. Where possible, try to phrase your post so it isn't all about yourself.5. Super mega bonus: If applicable, take time to draw / link some concept at / diagram, even if it's made on MSPaint. Bad:i dont lik this it suxx i think u shud make this bcoz it is cool Good:This area/feature of fallout is poorly done/could be made better by X. This would solve Y issue / allow players to Y / make the game better for Y players. Remember: You are asking a mod maker to take time (potentially a lot of time) to make something you have requested / suggested. It's only polite to spend a little more of your own time on your post. Note: This does not guarantee your thread attention, but it at least helps people not skim past it by default. There are some genuinely great ideas, but the title and formatting stop people bothering to read the posts. Edited December 1, 2016 by Athanasa
Ethreon Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 And please, please.. stop putting the entire article body in your title. Damn it!
Rabbit1251 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 And very importantly post a synopsis of your topic in the thread title. I don't read threads where the title reads, "need help", "not showing up" or "did anyone". There are many here who ask for help and I try to direct myself to those who I can help with my limited knowledge. If I'm going to make the effort to help you please meet me halfway and let me know what you need help with. I swear some of these thread titles look like spam postings. Edit: Oops!! Didn't mean to step on Ethreon's toes, wot. The key word in mine is "synopsis". Can you say "happy median?" The Rabbit
Ethreon Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Nah, you are right. It's just that every so often I see a title that's just the whole idea. All 5 phrases. Not that hard to title something.
damanding Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 I would like to request that people stop bumping the thread every day or even every few days. Setting aside the fact that it's against forum rules, it actually makes me less interested in the idea the more it's forced up.
Jeffman12 Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 This whole system would be better served with upvotes rather than newest post, or some combination.

Of course it still relies on a mod author being interested in doing it, but seeing plenty of upvotes on a mod might be incentive for some.

Although that could end up with the entire first page becoming an echo chamber, with anything arriving later being doomed to oblivion.
damanding Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 There would need to be some moderation of the system where a thread gets closed once the mod is made, or if it's determined it can't be made for some reason.
Athanasa Posted December 7, 2016 Author Posted December 7, 2016 We almost need subcategories. Except I'm not sure how you'd categorise it. I feel pretty strongly that all the "Please port X character / armor / weapon from Y game" requests should have their own category. But that's mostly because I personally see them as less worthy than other original mods. Something to do with buying a game, then trying to make it a different game. But I digress! Categories might help, although I guess that's what post tags are for. Except they're rarely used, and I don't think you can edit them after posting. Might as well match the Nexus categories.
