For the record, I had downloaded the 2.2 version from the Skyrim Nexus page and simply added the file to NMM. Disabling it fixed the issue so far. I have had this happen so many times. usually dumping the "corrupted save" clears the issue and I have had no noticeable problems in game.But how it happens? Well - each time it has happened to me it's been when I've accessed menus, collected something, or something scripted is running. I save too "quickly" during the actions I get corruption. I've a fully loaded game and plenty of stuff going on. The latest corruption event happened in Breezehome when I was impatient to leave the game. I saved as a Vilja animation started, and another companion started to speak and - corruption.On other occasions I got a stuck animation or some vanilla bug starting when the game flagged a corrupt save. Maybe the combination of menus, animations, scripts, etc. in a busy game just all add to the chance of the problem happening, rather than it being one source? calfurius Posted June 1, 2017 Share Posted June 1, 2017 Also have the same problem, I believe it's related more to the number of mods one uses. I have a theory that the root cause of the saved game corruption could be that the game does the "false corruption" instead of crashing like it would in Oldrim. Maybe that's why part of the reason Special Edition seems far more stable is because Bethesda removed certain safeguards or whatever, and while it does reduce crashing, in certain set-ups it results in this corrupt saved game issue we see. slicksooch Posted June 3, 2017 Share Posted June 3, 2017 The bug doesn't seem to happen outside the 'Skyrim world'. For instance, I was just doing some dragonborn DLC on Solstheim and never saw the bug once while on Solstheim. I sailed back to windhelm and the bug was there to greet me at the docks. So weird. Having read through most of it, it seems to confirm what I thought the issue was, which is a memory overload of some sort (caused by a combination of many mods, large numbers of loose files and scripts triggering etc), not really related to any one mod. Like others have reported here I was experiencing this about every twenty minutes, first dialogue would start to disappear then the save would appear corrupted, but exiting and re-entering the game and the save no longer showed as corrupted and could be loaded fine. I could make it happen almost instantly by crafting. I was using SKUI 2.2 and the achievement unlocker, along with most of the other suspects that have been discussed in this thread. Following advice given here I have now uninstalled SKYUI2.2 and the achievement unlocker (but am still using the uncapper which runs off the same DLL loader) and so far no more corrupted saves (four hours of play and several long crafting sessions). So at the very least this seems to have reduced the likelihood (and/or frequency) of occurrence for me. I don't think either mod is to blame and both are fantastic mods. I think it is more that with these mods installed, and the rest of my very script heavy load order Skyrim without SKSE just can't handle it. I think that this issue is not widely reported yet because most of those who heavily modded their games are still playing legendary edition, and will continue to do so until SKSE64 comes out. Well that's my two cents worth. I will report back here if the issue reemerges in my game. Thank you again to those who created this thread and those who worked really hard to try and understand what the problem is, and how to fix it. swiftfoxmark2 Posted June 13, 2017 Share Posted June 13, 2017 I was looking on the Relationship Dialogue Overhaul mod page and he mentioned that this issue is related to mods that were ported from Oldrim but not converted using the 64-bit Creation Kit. It is something that is worth more investigation. I may try and go with a mod list I saw from a Let's Player who didn't have any issues and had a similar load order as well as SkyUI 2.2 running. tonycubed2 Posted June 16, 2017 Share Posted June 16, 2017 Too many mods that poll frequently. And where is you4 bashed patch and ssedit patch? Remember to remove the leveled lists from the ssedit patch, and hand check the ssedit patch for changes that need merging . Reduce scripted mods by a quarter and test. Suggestions : lose footprints, and all the bird mods, and moon path. Make the bashed file, and ssedit file, test with new game. Use alternate start by Arthmoor for quick starts.
