lethielnyrond
First crash and I haven't even got to Ustengrav. There's *got* to be a solution to this (preferably one that isn't "delete all your favourite mods and just hack monsters the whole time"...) Ramagast
My new setup seems to have lower intensity of the glitch. When it first happened, I loaded a save created before it manifested and so far didn't encounter it again. However, previous setup has one break after another right from the beginning of the game. So, different intensity. And I got rid of mainly small mods (like, add a "single set of armor"). My script load is pretty much the same, my game maintains a steady 50-60 fps, no crashes so far - everything is like before, But, the glitch is more rare. And it's still, like, 10 of us here and no external mentions of this bug. There are a lot of heavy mod lists. This has to be something very specific.
lethielnyrond
So, what mods are you using? Or rather, which ones are you now *not* using? :) Lethiel
unblest
There are few more ppl having this problem. There's this thread in reddit: https://redd.it/5p0ds8This thread also discusses this problem: https://redd.it/5lxsc7 I was thinking that since this "save file corruption" doesn't occur if you restart Skyrim, some kind of corruption happens with assets or forms that's not saved but persist in Skyrim's memory range, which could be any meshes, textures.I'm leaned towards that old form version is NOT the cause of this symptom, as I resaved all old plugins in CK 2.0 and checked their form version in SSEEdit to make sure. Heres my mod list if anyone is interested in comparing them : https://modwat.ch/u/unblest Edited January 20, 2017 by unblest
LeagacyofMorrorwind
My game is now more stable too been 12 hours and no corruption. My guess would have been a mod that was not fully uninstalled or some leftover scripts. That would explain it comming back regardless how many things i uninstalled. Unless it comes back again but im not adding new mods now. Hope it is ok now.
Ramagast
I've uninstalled Monster Mod as it seems to have too many buggy models, Equilibrium (same issue at lesser degree), Aurlyn, Ambriel and a couple of smaller mods. I've also took some random older mods in my load order and optimized their meshes - just in case authors of these early ports didn't do it themselves. It has an effect - even if the model appear normally in game, it still can be broken. I mean, if we can't find the definitive suspect, it can be not an esp. So I'm looking at meshes and textures. EDIT: As an interesting example - if we'll take "Real Roads" from Oldrim, it will eat 15 fps even while the graphics will look properly. If optimized - no FPS hit at all. Maybe it's the only negative effect, maybe not. There is a possibility that we just keep encountering some of this "dirty" models and it messes our games. TheMadTemplar
I'm one of the people posted above from the reddit threads. I went through and double checked my mods, and most of them specifically say that it's ported. What would be an easy way to verify that meshes have been properly converted? Ramagast
For meshes - none that I know about. But, for example, I had a crash in cooking menu when selecting certain modded dish. I've found it in TEDEdit - it was a part of "Aurlyn Dawnstone" SSE version (which is disappeared from Nexus rather quickly). So, I found the meshes from this mod and put them through SSE NIF Optimizer. So, some conversions are probably done more hastily than others and will be converted eventually. With esp's it can be noticed more easily. Esp with form 43 in it's header was not properly saved in new Construction Kit. Wrye Bash is also handy in noticing resulting errors (CRIT data for weapons and so on). Finally, messed up water flow in the game is usually a sign of bad conversion. I don't have any information on the textures and don't know if they need to be converted. TGA textures are not supported by SSE, but I never encountered them to begin with. Also, the bug itself seem to be more somewhat unique to just say: "it's broken meshes!". I mean, the connection between some bad models and suddenly disappearing dialogue is a long stretch.
TheMadTemplar
I wondered if maybe it was the bad models that was leading to save "corruption", and the disappearing dialogue was a result of the bad information springing from that. Maybe because meshes not formatted right are still readable by the game, so they don't give a CTD like a missing mesh would, but it's still formatted wrong so the game is malfunctioning? The fact that a hard restart fixes the problem until it happens again, and that every save in the save folder (even strictly vanilla saves) show up as corrupt by the game when this happens, leads me to believe it's something f*#@ing with the game, and not necessarily the saves. LeagacyofMorrorwind
Would be great to point to the thing that does it to stop the fake corruption from happening again in the future. I added a bunch of suspects back in my game lets see if it corrupts now again or stays stable. For now it still is guessing. Edit: So i added around 60 mods and am now at 155 plugins and the fake save corruption is back after playing good 18 hours normal with 93 mods. There has to be something that causes this either ported mods that dont work right or not playing along. There are no leftovers from other mods since it was a new install and i kept everything so some mods not fully deinstalled causing this is out of the window. Here are some mods i dont had this install : Sofia , Recorder , Quaxes Questorium , Ap Skyrim , Ambriel , Maids 2 , Falskaar , 3dnpc , Virelda and Aurlyn.I stayed away from the bigger ones but its still happening. From the 60 mods i added these i had before the new install when it did the fake corrpution : Silverstead, Skyrim Underground , the notice board, the scarlett, windstad mine , yennefer of venderberg , dolmen ruins , eso skyshards , gildergreen regrown, helarchen creek , ivarstead , karthwasten, kynesgrove , shors stone , soljunds sinkhole and skyrim se expanded weaponry. Im removing those mods and see if it fixes it or will now continue to fake corrupt the saves. Or maybe they are all ok and another mod does somehow the corruption because its not ported right. Im really sick of this s**t neither in skyrim nor fallout had i to deal with such s**t. I run fallout 4 with 330 mods and no problems now im scared to add anything to skyrim se if i get it fixed.
