Why no hardcore mode?

It's amazing how many of Beth's "improvements and innovations" involved removing elements of the game.

They've been "improving" their games by removing things since Daggerfall. :armscrossed:

because Obsidian schooled Bethesda in an RPG-Shooter... and Bethesda, in spite, didn't put in Hardcore Mode & a Companion Wheel !

it makes so much bloody sense that there should be Hardcore Mode in Skyrim !!!!!

food in Skyrim is such a waste of space, memory, time, and gaming !

Obsidian also gave them a lesson on how to do factions, one they've ignored.

Omg plz add NV factions to skyrim T.T

my life be complete

Have Bethesda build the world and then have Obsidian fill it, what a game that would be.

Don't. Get. Me. Started. !!

why factions aren't in Skyrim is also another mystery !!!

what are the odds bethesda will add this feature as DLC in the future? Or will they just " leave it to the modders". Seems like cooking is in the game just as a marketing ploy to wet our appetites before the games release. "Hey Skyrim has cooking!" It serves no purpose but its there!

I too would really like to see a hardcore mod like the one in FONV when the Creation Kit comes out. However, It might be a bit more challenging, even if they use the same system (with the bars filling as you go hungrier/thirstier).

What I was thinking was the implementation of thirst in the mod. In Fallout, there were plenty of drink sources from where you could drink (even urinals, ugh).

In Skyrim, there are a few lakes and rivers, but adding a drinking option when near or in them could be tricky.

I second that, they should really just focus on doing worlds while letting other teams like obsidian fill it factions/choices/stories...god if they would have done that i would probably never sleep again.

I don't think adding drink options will be hard since it has already been done in Morrowind and Oblivion. In those games the mods added drink sources like wells and bottled water to vendors. So you could drink from lakes, wells, or water skins. I see no reason why the same couldn't be done in skyrim.

There was a mod for FONV that if you sneak+activate any water source (lake, tap, urinal, fire hydrant etc) you filled all empty water bottles you carried with water and when you drink a water bottle you get a empty water bottle so you never run out of water bottles. So if some else did it, it can be done right? Anyway I don't know anything about modding do I don't know.
