gfraire1309
So i have made the decision to finally build my own computer to play skyrim with mods and to try to start making mods my self. I have been watching videos on youtube on how to build a good gaming pc for 1,000 and i think i found the right video for me. Does anyone have any good tips before i begin this project? also, what kind of monitor should i get? i dont want to spend more than 200 on a new monitor, but do monitors make a huge difference? im not all that interested in 4k graphics, i just want good (decent) graphics with great gameplay and no more crashes. I like to use mods like frostfall, realistic needs, combat mods, ect. DoctorKaizeld
here''s my build for a great PC: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/ if you havent used that site to find your parts you really are missing out on some possible savings. i personally use two monitors but of the two listed on the parts list i only use two Acer R240HY screens. i strongly recommend them the two i have work great and the edge they have allow them to work together better then most other screens. also on the build i shared i havent found a game (excluding Star Citizen) where i had below 60 FPS. (note: i shared my parts list more as a way to introduce the site and to provide another option)
twiztedmongoloid
What you listed OP is pretty solid. That will do everything you want with skyrim. For monitor i would just get any basic 1080p monitor. You can go fancier but its not really needed for games like skyrim.

LeddBate
I'd just like to add that if you have a decent spare flatscreen TV that isn't too old, and 1080p is good enough resolution for you, then you can just use an HDMI cable to hook it up. You'll get a bit more ghosting and less sharp color saturation than a dedicated monitor of the same size, but it's free if you have the spare TV to use! I've been gaming happily on a plain old 32" LED HDTV for years.

LeddBate
Check to see which size HDMI port your TV has. They're usually the standard size, but it may vary from what your video card has. But don't worry if it's different, there's size adapters available for all HDMI ports.
