SubjectProphet
So, you're on the phone with you're cable company. You're on hold. For the fifth time. What do you do? I kick the door while screaming at the playing music. Literally too.
CommanderCrazy
i put the phone far enough away from my ears so i can hear if it changes from music to another robot, and mess around with things like Powder Toy
Werne
I once called my phone company, 20 minutes of listening to the brain-damaging music and automatic responces so I threw my phone out of the window. Luckily it's a 50 year old phone with a very good cable so it was only hanging from the window. I pulled it in about half an hour later and it was still playing that "on-hold" music :wallbash:
Syco21
The cable company that services my area also services Austin which is host to UT Austin. So during the peak months, basically the start and end of the school year, hour+ long holds are common. Then several week waits for installations and service calls are to be expected. What do I do while on hold? Put it on speaker phone and play games or chat.
Marthos
Could be worse http://beaconnews.suntimes.com/news/9675611-418/auroran-says-comcast-equipment-has-bugs-literally.html Quote: AURORA — When someone refers to their electronics as being buggy, Antonio Munoz may have something a little different come to mind. The Aurora resident recently acquired his cable television service through Comcast. After the installer left his home on a Friday, cockroaches began crawling out of the cable box in his parents’ room, Munoz said. He said it looked like the equipment came from a different user, and was not new. “You don’t know where this equipment came from,” he said. Munoz made several calls to the customer service line, and stopped in the Lake Street location, and no one was able to help him for several days, he said. He wanted new equipment, but was told it would require another installer. “Why wouldn’t they just take the time to bring you new equipment?” he said. Munoz carries a bag with dead roaches in them as evidence. He also wrapped up the box and brought it back to Comcast — he does not want the roach-infested equipment in his home. He has since seen a few cockroaches crawling around his home, which is disturbing. “We never had a roach problem here ever,” he said. Comcast spokesman Angelynne Amores said in an e-mail that the customer’s box was later replaced free of charge. The customer care team also apologized for not handling the situation more promptly. Munoz’s problem comes shortly after the news of a class action lawsuit that Comcast employees are making against the company on the south side of Chicago. The lawsuit, which was filed in U.S. District Court, says that employees were often forced to install inadequate, bug-infested equipment at homes on Chicago’s South Side. Hey, while I'm going to be sitting around and waiting I might as well do something constructive. :P

Denina
When I'm on hold for anyone I usually load up pogo.com and play some game on there that isn't timed...a harmless time waster.
