MFFF 5.1[9]

The other blastdoor, of the teleport-cable station chamber, quickly opened to a true vaultlock chamber that in turn easily opened to a subvault, neither blastdoors being heavily code locked.

The revealed subvault turned out to be a very well stocked area of big autorobotic storerooms, being filled not only with standard equipment-supplies but with special equipment-supplies, special other items and even more exotic ones. Some of the storerooms had dedicated art gallery, museum or other special collections.

There were other kinds of facilities including an accommodation section, general storerooms still to be filled, utility chambers and so forth but that was true for almost every kind of subvault.

Except, in this subvault, loosely heaped in a formerly empty storeroom were 33 'jelly capsule preserved' humans in vaultsuits, science jumpsuits or, on one case, a lightly armoured hazmatsuit with the visor open. There were also five trained, body-armoured, security vaultdogs. All humans were equipped with full, compact, survival backpacks along with other such items including pulsepistols and-or pulsecarbines. One had a handflamer, a cousin to the bigger packflamers, and another a laserpistol.

Team5s now all had body-armour, even special adapted types for the metadogs, metadroids and metabots. They had moved through part of the subvault earlier and continued ahead of other, bigger, teams. Vaultcompnet was taking over the subvault as the metafolk fully activated its network-system there. Constant contact was kept between all teams and between them with Metamind, Metacompnet and Vaultcompnet. All security safety protocols were strictly kept to.

More blastdoors were found but all were heavily, cleverly, code locked.

That subvault was soon enough cleared for a slower, more methodical security sweep that soon followed.

After a secret door was found, that opened to a small armoured storeroom of GuardTech Corporation fighting gear, including heavy power armour, the metafolk leadership gave out orders for all explored-charted areas to be gone over again.

MFFF 5.2[10]

GuardTech was a mercenary corporation that had strictly served the needs of the TechCorps including the international, and national, mother corporations. They were the heavies sent in only when most needed, that is when other TechCorp forces had failed be they security or paramilitary. There operations were most often kept secret for political reasons, so as not to concern nervous investors, and for other reasons such as avoiding government intervention.

That GuardTek mercs had been there was a damned strong indication that something had indeed gone wrong. Unless they had been there as a precaution for justifiable fear that something would go wrong.

The GuardTek arsenal was at once given over to the new Metaguardia that was formed. Metaborgs would form a core part of the Metaguardia but would not utilise the few available sets of heavy power armour. They would be used by metahumans as metadroids, like cyborgs, could carry heavier body-armour than could metahumans. They were also much stronger.

Councils, subcouncils, networks, think tanks and services were formed. The metafolk found themselves striving to bring every resource, they could, to focus on defence, security and safety.

Two more hidden chambers were found but one had luxury goods put there by petty corrupt VaultTek petty officials and the other was a safevault full of carefully packed plastic notes and metallic coins. It was a fortune in Predoomsdays terms but what about Postdoomsdays terms?

It was decided to delay moving into the next subvaults.

The statusjelly encapsulated bodies were carefully taken to a research laboratory area along with any other data.

Somebody, something, had wiped security recordings of what had been going on. Neither Metacompnet or Vaultcompnet could find anything but a few fragments of data; everything carefully regained was thoroughly examined and then examined again.

MFFF 6.1[11]

They began to psyke danger in a more subtle fashion, began to smell odd taints of sharp acrid nature, and slowed in a cautionary fashion.

Three tough metacats paced along the floor of a metallic vault hallway, in one of the more recently discovered areas, seeking out vermin that 3Dcameras, and security sensors, had picked up. With them came two small metabots, being lightly armoured-armed escorts to the felines even in more confined spaces.

The felines were very intelligent for cats and were, of course, linked to the metamind. They also had cyborg implants including some interesting tricks. Each metacat had an odd, body curve fitting, fairly thick backpack on her, or his, back.

Others were soon coming to assist them being vaultron type tronrobots, other type vaultbots and vaultdroids but there was also a Metaguard Platoon13 approaching along with support elements.

A rat leapt out of a broken grid of a wall vent to dart towards the team in a mad rush. It was obvious that something stronger than a rat had smashed through the grid. It was a grid, and vent shaft, that did not exist on the official maps being in one of the side areas yet to be properly explored.

The rat, who would normally avoid cats, shot past them even as a black-grey biometalic-biomechanical monster leapt out of the shaft. Like a deformed, hairless, glistening metallic monkey it had a strange triangular dart head, a long articulated spiked tail and four double jointed limbs ending in clawhands. Moving with deadly speed, and agility, the creature halted upon seeing the metacats. Then, from a small black hole at the front end of its head shot a spine at one of the metacats.

The targeted feline darted to one side, so that the glistening biometallic spine shot harmlessly through the air to land on the floor some goodly distance down the corridor. Even as it did so the rodent shot around a corner and was gone from sight.

Pulseguns popped up, out of, the three metacat armoured backpacks and fired upon the creature. The two small metabots fired off their own pulseguns. Multiple pulses hits caused the creature to scream out in agony as it resisted damage with its biometallic armour. Then it died as it splashed some briefly burning acrid smelling 'blood' onto the floor around it. The body shuddered horribly and then lay still.

Which was three more of the creatures attacked, not from the vent shaft but from a utility alcove where they had apparently been resting. Again many pulses were fired but also some caseless shotgun cartridges were used to good effect as a powerful 10guage autoshotgun blew a biometallic head apart.

A human dwarf, a thickly muscular woman, had come around a corner holding her autoshotgun. She was wrapped, almost totally, in head to toes in body-armour that had an odd sheen to its surface. She kept firing her gun with impressive speed and aim.

Again and again the surviving two creatures got struck until they died, just as dramatically as the first one had.

The dwarf woman showed her face, craggy and light brown, even as she looked at the metacats in wonder. “Monster slaying pussycats, what next? Well, you are gorgeous.”

A metacat spoke in an odd throaty manner even as the metacats' pulseguns back down into concealment. “Cats always gorgeous but thank you! Got snacks?”

A metabot shot forward and was soon handing each metacat a small snackbite in the form of a small cube of clonemeat. The metacats were soon chowing down on the stuff.

The dwarf sighed. “Got any more of that for me; haven't eaten in a few hours.”

The metabot spoke. “What flavour would you desire! I have chicken, beef and tuna to offer. Each snackbite is highly nutritional and filling.”

The short woman was eating a chicken one, with a beef and a tuna one waiting to be devoured, when the assault power armoured Metaguard metahumans arrived along with combat metadroids and armoured-armed metabots.

So it was that the metafolk met the first of the Survivors619, her name being Karon Crampin. The human midget was led to the nearest outpost where she was questioned, fed, given the use of facilities, and then given some useful items to take back to her people.

The Survivors619 were an isolated group of humans, animans, androids and some more exotic entities, that occupied a badly damaged subvault. It was constantly under attack by what were called the hivevaca but only by the smaller scout type hivevaca known as spineloca and spitloca. The four creatures, that had been destroyed, had all been spineloca. The Survivors619 did not know anything about any kind of jelly creatures and the idea was a puzzling one to the dwarf; the metafolk-metamind psyked that she was being honest.

Crampin did a very dangerous job of going through vent-shafts to other subvaults in order to get valuable loot. Thankfully the hivevaca scouts had just as much trouble fighting inside the vent shafts as she did, if not more so, but still she had come close to being killed more than once.

Crampin crawled through a vent-shaft but with her went five small vaultbots with many extras for her people. They took food concentrates such as powders, medicines including stimpaks, solidstate computer chips, recorded holotapes, datachips full of useful data, multiple purpose tools, small pulseguns and so forth. All were lightly armoured-armed.

MFFF 7.1[14]

The single metapoint was activated, spent, utilised and thus the Metacube appeared being externally a perfect dull silvery metallic cube four metres across-wide-high. It was a transdimensional base that was bigger inside than on the outside, or so was the general appearance of its nature.

A single metallic door could be materialised on one surface of the outer cube and this went into an entry-exit chamber but there were other means of entry-exit. That cubechamber was two times bigger inside than was the outside being eight metres across-wide-high. The next cubechamber was twice as big being sixteen metres across-wide-high. The next chamber was thirty-two metres across-wide-high. The last, accessible, was sixty-four metres across-wide-high. After the 8x8x8 cubic metric chamber, each was filled with adjustable spaces of levels, chambers, hallways, rampway hallways and more.

At first the Metacube chambers, utilities, facilities, were quite bare but as soon as the Metacube materialised it began to evolve, to add features, to respond to the needs-wants of the metafolk.

Metafolk began to move much of their peoples, activities, into the Metacube that was not part of TechVault619 though it might be inside it. New command, administration, service-support, storage and other centres were soon being set up.

When the relatively small mattercator was discovered it was soon being used to slowly-steadily matercate, create through mattercation processes, a short range of useful basic items including parts.

When the relatively small assemblecator was found it was soon utilising parts, matercated and otherwise, to create more sophisticated items.

When the relatively small trasnsformator was investigated, it was soon transforming items in a basic but fundamental manner. Vaultsuits, for example, gained new colour patterns and symbols, reflecting the metafolk way and not the VaultTek way.

When the relatively small healinator was found there was no immediate need for its use but everything was made ready in case the need arose.

In the 8x8x8 cubic metric cubechamber were sent the statusjelly encapsulated bodies, the desiccated corpses, the strange bits of biometalic-biomechanical creatures, the dead spineloca along with other data. Heavily isolated from the rest of the Metacube, it became the focus of metafolk scientific investigations on the samples.

Sonya01A01 looked around at the oddly softened surfacing of the metallic command chamber with its big intrinsic telemirrors that were like non reversed mirror reflections, such was their high quality, of other places. Consoles would adjust to the needs of those using them as would chairs and other fittings, furnishings and even decorations.

One wall sported now a great bright, colourful, abstract 3Dmural of flowery jungle landscape complete with a fantastic waterfall becoming a blue river. It was animated and was always slowly-steadily changing with water splashing, birds flying, treetops moving in the breezes and so forth.

Sonya01A01 focused briefly on an amazing holographic map floating in mid air that was of the known TechVault619 areas complete with different colour codes and markings. Another such map showed interiors of the Metacube itself.

Metacompnet: “You appear to be restless.”

Sonya01A01: “Can't shake the feeling that something is fundamentally wrong. Have more metadrones sent into the vault vent network-system to find out more about that group, the Survivors619.”

Metacompnet: “When Crampin failed to return, as she had promised to do so, we sent two small metadrones to investigate. We quickly lost contact with them both and fear that they were attacked, perhaps by an EMP device of some kind. I do not think it wise to waste any more of the precious entities.”

Metadrones were low flying metabots and EMP meant electromagnetic pulse.

Metamind: “I have tracked down the metadrones; they are safe but are trapped in a small chamber along with Crampin and the five vaultbots. The irony is that it is not the hivevaca that have her trapped but renegade humans being the descendants of GuardTek mercenaries. They want to kill Crampin and to take everything they can as loot.”

In the Metacube the Metamind could speak openly and could link directly to metacompnet that was now centrally based in the Metacube. The Metacube had enhanced its power, its abilities, including its links with metafolk of all kinds including metabots and metadroids.

Sonya01A01 nodded. “I have formed a temporary existing metamentality with other metafolk, and you Metamind, and it is agreed to send a rescue mission. Yet we must take into account that we were unsure as to whether Crampin was telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. This could be a very elaborate trap set up to draw us in.”

Metacompnet: “Some good news is that the metaplants are doing well and will soon their ripe, special type fruits, will be able to be cultivated.”

Metaplants had been newly found in the Metacube there being 13x13(169) of them. They were a kind of metaxotic (meta-exotic) caste. They could grow specialised as medicines, flavourings, nutritional boosters and so forth.

Previously gained metaxotics were already in action or still in preparation stages. There were 13x13(169) metaxotics; they were 3x13(39) metaborg cyborgs, 1x13(13) metaslayers, 1x13(13) metaphants, 1x13(13) metamorphs and 1x13(13) metabrains.

There were also the 13x13(169) each of metahumans, metamals (meta-animals), metabots and metadroids; these were not classed as metaxotics but as metastards (meta-standards).

Worldnet Summarised General Report 58771 Sequence 000078 String Cell 91111A401

Unidentifiable energy patterns have manifested themselves in a scattered fashion across the world. Though relatively minor in impact, and only found in relatively few places, the phenomena is of concern. Careful monitoring of this phenomena continues.

Viper Gangers, equipped with technologies from an unknown sources, have begun launching major raids against Brotherhood of Steel outposts in California. While most of the raids have been easily repulsed the overall impact has driven the Brotherhood of Steel back from some local areas. The Vipers continue to be less technologically advanced than the Brotherhood but their numbers are greater, outnumbering the Brotherhood by more than two to one. Attempts to discover the identity, and nature, of the Vipers' secret supporters have failed. Monitoring continues of this situation.

In Earth Low Orbit, Skynet continues to repair, rebuild and to upgrade itself. The low orbital defence network of network-systems went rogue during the Doomsdays though the reason for this has never been discovered by Worldnet. Skynet has shown no aggression since the Doomsdays except against meteorites, space junk and zetan scoutsaucers intruding into Skynet Low Orbital Territories. Monitoring continues not just of Skynet but also of zetan and other low orbit activity.

TechVault619 continues to be a mystery and efforts to gain more data continue to be thwarted. The only real discovery yet made is that the comprehensive effort to hide the truth indicates that it was of very high priority to do so; this indicates that the secrets of TechVault619 are of high priority to discover. Investigations continue as related to this topic.
