The Chosen Giftings came from the same list so they chose a multiple purpose and a medical biotech 64x64x64 Cubechamber that would also take time to be usable.

Metamind: “The new treasury balance is now valued at one Metapoint, one Chancepoint, 7,617 Gamecredit, 76,170 Tradecredit, 262 Metacredit, Giftcredit 322, seven Chosen Giftings, seven Random Giftings, seven Surprise Gifting and one Exotic Gifting.”

So it was over as just as the chosen metafolk had entered the domechamber, all left the domechamber and then none were there. It became totally sealed off to the metafolk.

Wastelands Smells

A story in themselves

A mixture of tastes of left over horror

of newer threats

but also of striving new hope

the Wastelands commonality of

mutated plants, animals and other things twisted-tainted

fresh death and rotting death soon consumed

by eager hunters of carrion

yet other scents

many mixed so as to be confusing

and yet others mystifying

or even fear inducing!?

MFFF 13.1[27]

Crampin was with the Taskteam39 attempting to reach her people, the Survivors617. She had been more open about them, admitting they were the descendants of political radicals, social misfits, petty criminals and others who had been considered not worthy of VaultTech employment any longer. They had been due for expulsion, from both employment and the vault, when the Doomsdays fell. Largely forgotten, thrown into a little used subvault, they had been given the basics to survive on.

Yet the metamind could psyke that Crampin was still not telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. What else had happened to the Survivors617?

Other taskteams were going out and salvaging what they could, being not just equipment-supplies. The dead woman, who had killed herself, and other remains were taken in for examination before some way was found of they being respectfully dealt with. Such as the artworks were being picked up as being just as important, in their own way, as apparently more practical items.

Small surprises were found hidden amongst more expected stuff, not always pleasant but sometimes most pleasing; glossy colourful 3Dcomics such as Grognak the Barbarian, Moon3999, the Captain Cosmos Adventures, international police-rescue Thunderbirds-Go, the amazing DocWho, the gangsters fighting Unstoppables, Magnus the Robot Fighters, Ben13 Earth Defender and the Ovengers of Goodbadcity were most welcome.

Some found glossy colourful 3D hardporn was largely disagreeable to the omnifolk or just puzzling.

Crampin was frowning softly as she walked along side Terri76H21 was the hilieutenant commanding the taskteam39. She kept giving the metahuman odd looks. “How old are you?”

Terri76H21, whose face showed through an open armoured visor, half smiled at him. “I am 15 years old with five years of soft to hard training and testing UVR experience. This included three realms like the ones across this world but not totally the same. A few comrades suffered permadeath but most survived.”

Crampin looked puzzled. “Permadeath?”

Terri76H21 nodded. “When one is not quasiressurected, that is permadeath or permanent death. Actually they did return to us but in a special fashion that I can not, will not, speak of.”

Crampin shook her head in wonder. “If you metafolk have this 'quasiressurecting' than you are most amazing.”

The metahuman shrugged, just a little. “Quasiresurrection has its limitations and its 'price' as everything does. You have told me something of yourselves so I will do the same for yourself. My parents were genetically engineered midgets designed to work in confined quarters and for such wondrous employment as entertaining folk. That is they were often forced to work in hard environments though they had the option of being the focus of ridicule to entertain people.”

Crampin: “Genmidgets is what we are called and we are not human dwarves though we have often been mistaken for them. Some of my people take pride in that but I can't see the point of doing so when both groups are treated just as badly as each other; we sometime intermarry or we did before Doomsdays.”

Crampin: “I was contracted to VaultTech as a so called 'manpower volunteer' which meant no volunteering was included. The wages were basic standard only, the service-support free but also basic and the bonuses small though fairly frequent. TechVault619 was the second vault I was sent to work in, after my apprenticeship was completed and I gained by fairly useless certificate.”

Crampin: “Still, I was happy to get away from the surface world what with the crazers going rampant, the autocratic martial law civil emergency government, the increasing shortages-rationing, mysterious vanishings, flying-saucers and so much other fun stuff happening.”

She said nothing more about the Survivors617.

MFFF One: Metavault Ventures

The taskteam39 briefly met two other taskteams on the way, both being bigger so as to take much salvage to both the newly renamed Metavault619 area and to the Metacube. Metavault619 was being mapped, secured and regulated as much as was possible.

A great new 64x64x64 Cubechamber had appeared and with it came many metafolk of different metatypes: there were 2x13x13(338) each of metahumans, metadroids, metabots, metamals and metaxotics; the metaxotics being a 6x13(78) metaborgs, 2x13(26) metaslayers, 2x13(26) metaphants, 2x13(26)metamorphs and 2x13(26) metabrains. The new Cubechamber held other resources as well such as a moderate sized, highly sophisticated, metacloning processing network-system.

The total was now 3x13x13(507) each of metahumans, metadroids, metabots, metamals and metaxotics, the metaxotics being a 9x13(117) metaborgs, 3x13(39) metaslayers, 3x13(39) metaphants, 3x13(39))metamorphs and 3x13(39) metabrains.

It was one of the Surprise Giftings that had been activated.

Thirteen metabrains were now in place functioning as semiportable cyborgs directly cyberlinked to the metacompnet and mindwise linked to the metamind. They were based in the Central Cubechamber of the Metacube along with the Central Metacompnet Network-Systems and metafolk command. This included Sonya01A01 and others like her.

Metaslayers, metaphants and metamorphs were out doing their first missions alongside other kinds of metafolk or in more independent teams.

Metafolk were visiting the ultra virtual reality realm of Homescape, going to the realm of realms that they had grown up in even as their actual bodies grew; they did so inside special bodycapsules that could also act as statuscapsules. When growth, maturation, had finished the status function had been switched to.

The Metacube was expanding, evolving, adapting to the needs of the metafolk and to its own needs.

More subvaults were entered to mostly reveal VaultTech standard utilities, equipment-supplies and other expected features. Special features were cable-teleport chambers, another horizontal floor elevator-blastdoor and more statusjelly capsules of lifeforms but there were also five greater surprises.

Worldnet Summarised General Report 58771 Sequence 000121 String Cell 91171A401

The United Civilised Citystates continues its rise to power in Europe with the use of mecha, robots and other machines often being the same in many ways.

The UCC has forced the United Kingdom of England to surrender as a 'protectorate' but does acknowledge the UKE monarchy in a limited fashion while also taking on various UKE institutions; that is such as the royal parades, stiff upper lipping, the Redcoats as elite power armoured soldiers, bangers and mash, the Bluejackets as power armoured marines, dangerous radfox hunting, and the monarch's annual New Year address to the people.

The Eurasian Dynastic Dominion, the EDD, continues to expand its power across Eurasia with the use of power armour infantry, tracked warmachines and monstrous helicopters. Most of its victories are due to a lack of enemies able to truly put up a powerful, organised, well commanded fight. The EDD continues to be ruled from the growing, fortified, tridomecity of Moscow. The EDD is still based mostly in great underground bunker complexes and related networks including the Metros of Russian cities.

On-in Luna the Peoples Lunar Collective increases its power though it faces other Spacer Factions in doing so. The PLC has formed a friendly alliance with the Solar System Semiautonomous Coalition (SSSC) of factions. The matriarchal PLC is amongst the most technologically advanced of the Spacer Factions.

The SteelBrotherhood Viper War continues to rage in the California Lost Hills area. The SteelBrotherhood has won a series of small, but vital, victories against their foes. The SteelBrotherhood has been forced to seriously reconsider its past tradition of never recruiting outsiders.

The mysterious Wanderer is briefly reported showing up in the settlement of Rivertown in the Confederacy of South North America, the NCSNA. The Wanderer, and his entourage, kill a group of infamously brutal slavers before freeing over 200 slaves and stealing many resources. The Wanderer, his followers, the freed slaves and others leave taking resources with them including animals and plants.

MFFF 15.2[30]

Note, this is the fifty-seventh such report given of the masked, hoodrobed, figure and his just as secretive twelve followers. Their agenda, of freeing slaves of any kind of people, dealing with cannibalistic subhumans, and helping people in other ways, continues to be carried out.

A new species has been recorded as the deeplurk, a cousin species to the mirelurk. This is an amphibious creature that is considered to be hostile though mostly aggressive closer to its nesting sites. It lays eggs. It has two sexes. So far only the one variation of deeplurks has been but if these creatures copy the past changes of other entities, such as mirelurks, different variations will soon be arising.

FixmakerLady, of the FabLadies, is reported to have shown up briefly in the struggling, early founding, settlement of RivetCity. Based on-in a great river area, and a maritime museum of sea going vessels, RivetCity gained much from the assistance of FixmakerLady and her people; in return FixmakerLady gained some valuable tech resources that the RivetCityfolk could not use. For safety reasons she also disarmed, dismantled, a small arsenal of tactical nuclear missiles and torpedoes. Worldnet will continue to give service-support to the FabLadies Program.

A breakthrough of data gain is reported. TechVault619 was the very highly classified research development SuperVault619; that was the actual TechVault619, being more openly known of, was constructed to partly surround and help conceal ResdevVault619 (Research Development Vault). There appeared to have been a focus on a program, of projects, dealing with opening transdimensional gateways to alternate realms with the aim of gaining the USPA (United States of PanAmerica) escape to new worlds and more resources. Worldnet computes such research-development would have been most risky for a wide range of reasons. The search for more SuperVault619 related data continues with increased priority.
