MFFF 19.1[40]

Battle noises, both more conventional and more bizarre, echoed along hallways of the vault.

Metaguardia units defended hard against the hivevaca swarm attacking along a big hallway except that all the attacking Hivevaca were infested-infected ones under the control of the AzaShadow for each and every one of them had strange black strands of stringy jelly substance webbing their bodies. Melded into the upper backs of each was a big, fully grown, puppetquato; each was much bigger, more matured, than the one that had been found on-in Crampin.

There were not just smaller scouting spineloca, or spitloca, type Hivevaca but bigger spinemica firing much bigger, more dangerous, spine projectiles. Just as big spitmica (middle level, very common, hivevaca castes) shot large destructive spurts of highly toxic, acidic burning and gripping spitidis. Biometallic fangs in big triangular heads, lashing-stabbing biometallic spiketails and big retractable biometallic claws were their other weapons.

Armour piercing, explosive tipped, bullets struck them as did shredding cluster bullets that weakened them making it easier for laser pulsebeams, and pulse projectiles of energy, to do them harm.

With them came hulking smashmica with great armoured ramheads being not triangular but like great hammers on their heavy weirdly galloping bodies. Their spiketails ended in big spikeballs that they used with deadly effect. They also had the big, retractable, claws.

A smashmica almost got to a Metaguard but almost was not good enough. It fell, wounded and writhing, then lay still as flames burned away the jellyslime from its body.

A big spitidis spitspurt burned away part of a Metaguard's power armour and then a big spinejectile penetrated. The man fell and was quickly hauled away with as much fear of infestation-infection than of the wound itself. The man would end up inside one of Jollyjelly's statusjelly capsules but for only a couple of hours.

MFFF 19.2[41]

Now and then an enslaved hivevaca would vanish, as it was sucked away by Hunterblob ambushing from one side, using a vent-shaft as an ambush point. Not always the same vent-shaft for Hunterblob had turned out to be very canny at hunting even such as the hivevaca. Yet the hivevaca were not to be destroyed but to be rescued and returned free to their 'people' along with puppetquato converted to helpquato.

Then came true AzaShadow minions being kind of semisolid shadowy shapeforms of Azaza projected azashazes; they were black-grey shadow humanoids floating fast through the air, each being a rough humanoid shape with four tentacle arms each ending in three smaller tentacles, and a long tapering tail always touching the floor at least at the tip.

A minority carried odd biometalic-biomechanical weapons as robbed from the more hivevaca. That is from the hivehica (high level hivevaca) that the AzaShadow could not dominate even with the use of puppetquato.

It was curious to see that the azashazes hung back away from the enslaved hivevaca and it turned out it was for good reason.

Now-then an enslaved hivevaca would go crazy as it fight to be free of the AzaShadow. It would thrash crazily, striking out as much at itself as at other enslaved hivevaca. Then it would collapse, dead, still writhing but not for long before becoming still.

When given a chance, azashazes would fall upon the dead hivevaca and devour them, including the dying puppetquato and the controlling jellyslime. They did so absorbing substances into themselves to cause biometalic-biomechanical disintegration.

With the start of hard jets of bluish liquid striking the enslaved hivevaca, the experimental ambush began. The targets fell, writhing, but the attack was not against them but against that which enslaved them. The substances soaked into the biometalic-biomechanical bodies, burning away the glistening jellyslime, even as there was another kind of attack on the puppetquata on the hivevaca.

MFFF 19.3[42]

At first it seemed doubtful that the trick had worked but with roars of alien rage former slaves, assisted by their now free-reprogrammed helpquato, attacked the azashazes and drove them back. Some fell, disintegrating unto death, beneath onslaughts of spines, spitspurts, and physical attacks of ramming, clawing, biting and tails smashing-ripping.

The malignant azashazes fled away as quickly as they could but more than half of the swarm were slain before the survivors were gone.

The hivaca paused, studied the Metaguards who were not attacking them, and then shot away to return to their own territories.

It was not obvious then-there but it was the start of a wary treaty-alliance of sorts. Only certain elite hivehico castes, of the hivevaca, could carry out such diplomacy for the hivevaqueens and the Mindquato of the newly forming Hivequato itself. That is the Mindquato behind the Massquato and Webquato.

Professor Walter Bishop, formerly of the famously infamous Fringe Division of the FBSI before it was closed down on dubious grounds, was a supergenius who had helped perfect the substance. Now cured of former insanity, and part of his brain having been removed, he had come with other OPRD people from an Alternative Earth.

Working with other scientists, including metafolk ones of course, and supercomputers he had contributed some amazing insights and other ideas. For the OPRD's home world had surprisingly well advanced when it came to some types of sciences including biotech though in some ways less so than that Alternative Earth.

Walter crouched and carefully examined parts of a burned clean, dead, hivaca creature. “It was as much luck, I suspect, than any other factor that led to our success. We will need to exchange knowledge with the hivevaca if we can do that; clearly they are, in their own way, advanced in biotech sciences.”

Attractive Astrid stood beside him, also in a lightly armoured hazmatsuit. “Luck? Walter you make lots of successes seem lucky but it is you that makes them so.”

Walter blushed at the words of his wife-assistant.

MFFF 20.1[43]

The nibblerclaw carefully stalked parasites on the great big body of an alpha queen deathclaw, almost kind of pouncing on them when one came into target range. Then the far smaller cousin, to a deathclaw that could easily swallow it whole, would feed. On it went freeing the bigger creature from the small, possibly dangerous, mutated parasites.

The deathclaw carefully scratched the nibblerclaw now and then so that it made strange sounds of pleasure before going back to its work.

The alpha queen snarled softly when some of her bigger cubs became curious to see what nibblerclaw tasted like. When they backed off, she nuzzled them. One big cub, a powerful female, nuzzled the nibblerclaw and gained her mother's approval; nibblerclaws were important for the health of the deathclaw pack and had to be protected even from deathclaws.

Dealing with parasites was the forte of the nibblerclaws who also dwelt in peaceful co-existence with killclaws and other kinds of clawbeasts.

From outside of the caves drifted the muffled sounds of gunfire. The deathclaws knew that the two legged ones would soon enough move on, the prey would come out and they would come out. Deathclaws were aggressive, powerful, but not stupid. The two legged ones had terrible ways to hurt, even kill, deathclaws.

A few remains of bones, clothes, even a couple of guns, and other stuff lay in a corner with a skull on top; its jaw was to one side. The pile was evidence that sometimes the deathclaws were supreme even when the two legged ones had strange things that killed.

Breezes, coming down from the cave openings, brought multiple smells that to the alpha queen gave a whole story of what was happening up there. There were more threats than two legged ones out there such as chunky hard things moving around on chunky hard legs and disturbing whirring things that went through the sky above.

The alpha queen chewed on some tough mutated grass for the cellulite helped with deathclaw digestion processes. Other deathclaws were doing the same with grasses often gathered quickly up by nibblerclaws while under deathclaw protection.

MFFF 21.1[44]

Five 'greater surprises' of the explored-charted area of TechVault619 had turned out to be five addvaults (additional vaults) being each of a different kind. Addvaults could also be additional subvaults, semivaults or demivaults. Except that all five belonged to a supervault above the standard greater vault level and its thirteen subvaults.

The supervault included secondary areas such as utility tunnel grids and network-systems plus other features.

Metafolk teams, with others, checked out the supervault with speedy efficiency.

There was a hospital subvault designed to deal with biological threats to the Metavault-TechVault. It had excellent quarantine facilities.

There was a security intelligence subvault with isolation areas where newcomers could be secured and carefully checked out.

There was a transport hub subvault; it was a combined monorail, road tunnel and a special elevator site. Each monotrains, road vehicles and elevator modules. The elevators all went upwards but all were sealed off as were the road and monorail tunnels.

There was a subvault garrison fort with a heavily secured arsenal along with barracks and other special features.

The last subvault was telecommunications station of cable, phase and other forms.

Each addvault type subvault included not just standard facilities and equipment-supplies but also specialised ones.

There were five other subvaults, of more standard type, in the supervault. Yet there were also three more subvaults, in the supervault, that were sealed up and yet to be explored.

The supervault turned out to be as large as the main part of TechVault619 not including the Metavault or Metacube.

Worldnet Summarised General Report 58772 Sequence 000130 String Cell 876098765

There is a growing possibility of conflict between the United Civilised Citystates, the UCC, and the Eurasian Dynastic Dominion, the EDD. The situation is compounded by the presence of TransEnclaven infiltrators based in the CapeIndia TransEnclave on-in the Indian Subcontinent. Zetan scoutsaucers are also active in the area of possible conflict with zetahybrid scout teams being spotted in small teams (zemans, hutans, abominoids and zeclaws).

The Peoples Lunar Collective, the PLC, continues to perfect its gravity effect, phase jump, avatar projection and trizipower armour. The matriarchal matrilineal PLC is gaining growing tension with the very hard line orthodox patriarchal patrilineal Luna based power faction of the Puritanic League.

Sentinel Sandra Lyons has successfully had the treaty, with the real Viper Tribefolk, ratified by the SteelElders during a major meeting held in the central SteelBrotherhood bunker complex in the Lost Hills. There was more resistance than she had expected but the ratification motion easily passed. This was partly because of the support of it, and Sandra, by the highly influential Big4 of the SteelElders. The Big4 continues to gain support from Worldnet.

Now known as Viperclones, by the SteelBrotherhood and the real Vipers, the enemy has withdrawn from area close to the Lost Hills. Just as they came up from underground, through various means, they returned there. Available data on that underground area is neither reliable or consistent. There is a strong chance that there was constructed a large VaultTechVault in the area and that it most likely was a ResdevVault in nature. If this is the case than that ResdevVault could be the origin of the Viperclones and the rage variants of FEM inside them that can distort them.

A Timelord TARDIS briefly has materialised in the ruins of NeoTokyo that is the site of the highly destructive Akira Event. The Akira Event took place forty-one years before the Doomsdays, destroying Tokyo, and it is computed that a second such event took place during the Doomsdays, largely destroying NeoTokyo. The materialisation, of a TARDIS (Time Alternates and Relative Dimensions Intrinsic to Space) is unusual but was made more so with its outward appearance of being a large cube shaped historical British Imperial Civil Police Outpost Box. The box design clearly came from another alternative history to this one.

MFFF 22.2[46]

Ongoing research into Doomsdays casualties continues to find large discrepancies between Predoomsday population figures and calculated casualties including exotic forms such as ghoulification. Worldnet continues to compute that almost half of the Predoomsdays population of humans, and other counted lifeforms, remain unaccounted for. If they vanished, how did they do so and where did they go to?

TechVault619 ResdevVault619 histories continues to be a growing focus of concern. The nature of experimental development POPs (programs of projects) carried out there were mainly to do with transdimensional alternates gate technologies. Now newly acquired top classified data has revealed that related POPs were undertaken often in response to effects emerging from mainstream gate centered POPs. The confusion, contradictions, of gained data continues as does Worldnet's investigations into the history of the two VaultTechVaults.

MFFF 23.1[47]

With the unexpected expenditure, of a Metapoint, matters had changed dramatically, in a multitude of ways. A sparkling shivering shimmering effect had gone through everything-everybody.

The Metavault was phaseshifted away from the original TechVault619 in a fashion still being investigated. The Metavault was now a kind of transdimensional rimzone to the Metacube. Now there was much more available space in TechVault619 and the Metavault was more secured-isolated than it had been.

Sonya01A01 sat ensconced in her command position, studying various data displays of the upgraded-augmented command chamber in the Metacube. Metabrains were now firmly a special boost to the command administration network-systems.

Karif88E09, a metabrain, spoke to her via communications network-systems. “Note that so far we are still meeting heavily locked down blastdoors at the edges of the TechVault. The quite recently discovered supervault, of addvaults, has proven to be no change to that pattern. We metafolk appear to have finally explored-charted nearly all of TechVault619 with all of its subvaults, semivaults and other features. Yet we have neither gone very far above, out from, or no distance below the main level of the TechVault.”

The Metaleadership, evolving and growing, had been aware of this truth but other, more immediate, challenges had meant it was not focused on.

Then there was the sudden, very recent, appearance of many new metafolk. It was not just new numbers but changes in other ways.

There had appeared 4x13x13(676) each of metahumans, metamals (meta-animals), metaplants, metabots and metadroids; these were not classed as metaxotics but as metastards (meta-standards).

There were 4x13x13(676) metaborgs that were no longer classed as metaxotics but as metaspecials. Of each 13 metaborgs nine were standard, three were designed metamech pilots and one was a semimobile metaport operator.

There were 4x13x13(676) metaxotics; they were 4x1x13(52) metabrains, 4x3x13(156) metaslayers, 4x1x13(52) metapsykers, 4x1x13(52) metaphants, 4x1x13(52) metamorphs, 4x1x13(52) metaphasers and 4x1x13(52) metapaths.
