It's a game, so a perfectly valid justification for war deccing someone is 'because it's fun' ^^

Or 'we need new targets'

My alliance is frequently at the receiving end of war decs, but as we operate in 0.0, it doesn't affect us that much. True, logistics need a bit of extra effort, and the odd person will get ganked while moving ships, but other than that... *shrugs*

However, we do get involved in the big territorial conflicts that change the shape (or at least the colour on the sov map) of 0.0 - to help allies, to defend our space, to crush BoB - or rather TAFKAB) - and/or settle old scores.

And bear in mind that a PVP corp/alliance needs a constant stream of targets, or members will get bored. Mining/ratting/mission running isn't for everyone.

Let me put it this way, Sam: If someone war decs us, its because they want to find solo kills, to kill miners, mission runners, whatever - everyone has heard of the infamous uni blob. So, the best way to decrease the frequency of war decs is to ensure that noone gets those juicy solo targets.

Standard practice for all members of the ILN (Ivy League Navy) if we catch someone hauling/mission running/whatever, is to attempt to convo them and ask them to dock up. If they dont answer, we then ask in alliance chat. If they still dont answer, we fire a single warning shot at them. If they still refuse to answer, or refuse to dock up, then and only then do we kill them.

I'm going to refer you to a nasty case during a war about a year ago now, when our enemy ran into a player missioning in a fully faction-fit CNR. Once theyd killed him, our efficiency dropped from 97% to around 15%, and it led to a long string of decs afterwards from other corps looking to kill a CNR themselves :P

So its not like we're not fair about it :)

btw, you 0.0 types, dyou know much about Scalar Federation? They're one of the alliances whove been hired to declare war on us, they hold a few 0.0 systems, so you might have come across them before lol

Nah, all 3 decs atm are related - someone, not sure who, has a grudge against us - he's been paying people to wardec us :P

Theres a long thread on the EVE-O forums about it somewhere. Its fun :D

EDIT: Ok, only 2 are related - the leader of the 3rd corp just posted in our mysterious enemy's whinge thread that he is unrelated to the OP. They're just doing it for fun :)

Shield Maintenance bot/drone enhancing my tank in Worlds Collide (level 4 mission).

Transporting shields to Ro Jo in a Cormorant, while Blue Lee (in the background in an Eon) has 3 Shield Maintenance bots on me. Love the cooperative aspect of missions.

I nearly feel sorry for my client kieot who ended up paying me ISK 300 million for 2000 wrath cruise missiles. My sell order at the station was at 152 ISK per missile, but the market works strangely. He tried to buy from a higher priced order (150,000 ISK/missile), and the broker gave him my missiles and gave me the money :) You got to love the broker. I no longer resent all the millions paid to him previously in fees.

Over the last couple of weeks I have bought more than a billion worth of minerals in a 3 jump radius around Kakakela. Have been using the corporation POS to research blueprints, and currently producing lots of wrath cruise missiles.

Have also been arranging and participating in corp wormhole expeditions over the weekends. We are mainly an industrial and trade corporation, but for relaxation and fun we kill sleepers. A typical outing involves 5 to 10 pilots, mostly in Drakes, and results in >60 million in loot and salvage per player. We are planning on including miners in the team as well this weekend, to exploit the mineral resources.

Use these mostly to travel to and fro from the corp starbase

Nowadays I spend doing a fair bit of time doing research on blueprints

Am continuing to manufacture cruise missiles and tractor beams, and have set up buy orders for materials to manufacture rigs. The corp is doing more level 4 group missions and less wormhole expeditions nowadays.

A couple of weeks ago while probing away in a wormhole I was attacked by pirates. I managed to escape in my pod but I was sure that the wormhole would collapse before I could exit, leaving me stuck in there with a pod/clone worth more than 600 million. Amazingly when I tried to exit the next day, the wormhole was still there!

Have gone through this massive manufacturing phase (running 17 slots), and have today set up sell orders worth around 1.5 billion. The wallet has been hovering around empty for a while with all the buy orders, and it will be nice to have a bit to squander away. I want to buy a Golem, which will solve my mission/salvaging needs, but that needs a couple of months of training, so in the meantime I am eyeing a Rattlesnake. Not sure if it is any good. Costs nearly as much as a Golem (900 mil). I suppose it is worth a try.

Heya, haven't posted in a little while here, my alliance has been involved in a really nasty slug fest with Evoke out in Syndicate, which has spilled over into Empire so I've been a bit distracted from other forums. :)

Good to see you're getting your production is getting up to speed, I've been meaning to get involved more in production, but I'll just stick to my petty trading, as long as it keeps me in pewpew ships!

As far as a missioning ship goes, I don't know if there's any perfect solution for it, but I'd honestly recommend shying away from the Rattlesnake, It's an okay ship, but it's a bit over priced. If a regular Raven isn't suiting you then you could look at getting a Navy Raven for 350mil or so and it's going to do almost everything you'd want a rattlesnake to do for you, require less skills to fly well, and your skill training will be almost exactly the things you'd want to focus on for flying a Golem, and you don't lose a lot in the way of base shield HP, etc.
