I have a question: Does disabling the High resolution pack from a save make that save unstable? Is it safe? Disabling/uninstalling textures should not make a save unstable, or so I'm told, but the game shows a message "missing content" or something or other that it usually only does with mods with plugins. Could someone shed light on this, please?

Textures is usually considered "safe" to remove, if it doesnt add new things.

So I made screenshots with new textures and with Vivid Fallout series textures (Landscape, Trees, Rocks, Roads and Bridges, Vivid Waters) for comparison.

I use Olympus ENB.

Here:

I made them mostly for myself, but I figured that some people here might be interested as well.

For my taste these new textures are too bright (at least with my ENB), their size is ridiculous and therefore they are totally not worth downloading if you're already using mods.

I have NVIDIA GTX 880m and CORE i7.

So far I'm enjoying the texture pack. My pc is about 2 years old, running one of the previous generation titan x cards. No real noticeable difference in frame rates. In its current configuration my fallout 4 folder is 109 gb (!!!) so I'm thinking I'll keep running it unless I need more hard drive space.

A lot of stuff looks more detailed now. Player face in particular.

I have female body replacer including faces, and the difference is noticable on the player creation screen.

(comparing male/female)

Is it worth it? Dunno yet.

Do you NEED the 1080? Probably not.

The intro video that we skip, surprisingly used the most VRAM. (5.8gb) most the game hit for the first sequeces, (up to sanctuary) was just over 4gb.

I am using a 1080. FPS was way over 60 with no issues. (vsync set to fast via nvidia control panel for fallout4.exe, which tremendously speeds up load times btw)

My devalued 2 cents. Wow. I can read labels on things now, just in case that bottle of Rad-X, isn't. I can also see a zit on Desdemona's forehead now. On a big plus side, my 980 SLI cards in the GT-80 now produce enough heat to keep my coffee warm! Change in frame-rate wasn't noticeable.

All NPCs without a stock face/body type, now have no eyebrows. Kind of creepy looking.

Summary - not really worth it.
