Did you click through to http://americancensorship.org/ ? If you had, you'd have seen that it's part of the "blackout day" protest against SOPA. SOPA is not enacted, and the likelihood of it being enacted is-- thankfully-- low. What you're seeing is a page intended to raise awareness of the issues SOPA presents to not only Americans, but everyone on the internet. That's why it's there. It'll disappear within 24 hours, and you'll be able to resume browsing normally.

SOPA is not blocking you because it was not voted yet. What you are seeing is what you possibly will see with alarming frequency if it pass. What is there is a warning and example of what can happen in near future and this is only the tip of the Iceberg.

It's been shelved for now...it might come back up in the next session, but I highly doubt this is ever going to pass. Pres himself said he didn't approve of it, but I honestly think he said that just to get some support to be re-elected.

I'm still peeved, I can't check craigslist like I do every morning :( Cheezburger still lets you visit the site, but with NoScript active, I can't get past the little pop-up. No NoScript on that site turns it into internet hell lol. Just have to pick through the 20+ sites that site connects to and see which one does the little SOPA pop up lol :P edit: Ah, easy enough lol

Just saw this, I'm quite happy;

co-sponsor of the bill realized his idiocy of even supporting this :D

SOPA doesn't just range with the states, it's a policy they're trying to incorporate on the entire World Web. Of course, Congress can't rightly push censorship onto foreign sites as that would probably cause a myriad of foreign conflicts. However, the bill is being incorporated into other countries who agree with this absurd act. Unless someone does something (and quick), then it's only a matter of time before they regulate the entire web, and at this rate, I completely take back my previous claim in another thread. It seems they can. :unsure:
