bluewonder
Ever play through a build in skyrim and then abandon them midway to start another build.... i have abandoned.... 1) Pure assassin build - abandoned coz i took a fancy to the ranger type.... 2) archer + conjuration mage build - abandoned to start a thief build.... 3) a pure mage build - contracted vampire-ism level 4....but could not be fixed....bugged up...and everyone in whiterun attacks that char on sight...so can't join the companions.....and the mage in morkath can't seem to cure it either.....had completed around 84% of the game..... and the list goes on.....do you have such half baked chars/play-throughs?..... XyionUK
With my main build at the moment I am tempted to re-roll, it was my first proper go at the game and it's just incredibly weak against anything. Without proper tactical take downs it's a loss at every battle. It was basically an Assassin wielding daggers and it fails hard.
chanchan05
I just started my re-roll. The build I abandoned is a Ranger. Uses bows a lot, and can dual wield swords if pressed. Also uses Illusion magic.
Silvaner
I got bored with my first one since it was just there to get a feel for the game. My second, I was way too focused on gaming mechanics and methodically advancing the game than on the story and role playing. As for my third, that I just started: A violent and cynical fire mage that thinks intimidating people is often the best way to get things done. He was never that way younger when apprenticing in magic at Winterhold. As a native of Skyrim, he feels that others just like himself were brutalized too often and subsequently have developed a rough and jaded demeanor. He is capable of murder and can be amoral. But to anyone except the school of magic, his loyalty must be questioned. As he is known to participate in the activities of less then honest groups of people; only for them to be found dead or altogether missing. Who does he work for, if he does actually work for someone... Attributes: Physically weak but a quick runner.Cunning but also thinks way too much.Compartmentalizes the consequences of his actions. He donates to the poor a lot. Heh, as you can see I'll be enjoying this one =)
DZMaven
Kind of abandoned my Pro-Imperial mage character... for now. May go back to her again at a later date. Reason I dropped is because I just suck at playing a mage and really wanted to do a thief/assassin build.
grasshopper111
I recently abandoned my level 22 thief character because ( and I have to admit this) I felt guilty about threatening Kareeva over her family in order to get her to pay up ( pre thieves guild quest) . Seriously, I felt so bad I couldn't play on. Should never have played as a thief, just not in my nature :)
Frederov
I've played about 6 characters so far. I tend to get bored about level 30 and start a new one. I don't really know why I get bored, maybe I just get in a rut of earning money or the quests become too epic, whereas I like small scale stuff. My current character is a two-handed axe wielding killing machine that collects treasure but dosn't use shops. So I don't collect loot for selling. I collect gold, jems, ore, and jewerly for sticking in a big treasure chest to retire with. I'm trying to only use gear I find instead of using enchanting and alchemy. I will likely use smithing though because she is a female orc and thats what they do :) It will be interesting seeing how long I stick with this one. billyro
For some strange reason, unless I actually force myself to join a guild, I will always end up the same build: heavy armour, one handed swords, archery. I've tried assassin's but I got bored about level 20. I tried mage, got bored about level 5. Tried sword+mage, bored by the time I reached Whiterun. I can't play a character unless it turns out exactly who I am.
thompsonar
I've abandoned quite a few characters thus far. I've always been a chronic re-starter in TES games (and most games) though. My first character had high one handed, archery, and sneak. Around level 27 I felt too overpowered so I restarted. Did a mage til about level 10 and wasn't enjoying it. Also tried a thief, conjurer, then a pure archer. I'm happy with my latest character who is lvl 30 and uses destruction, conjuration, one-handed (usually bound sword(s), light armor. I'm avoiding sneaking and enchanting/smithing to hopefully not get overpowered. I've also never spread my perks around so much. I think I'll actually finish the MQ with this one though, I've never gone beyond "diplomatic immunity" before. edit: fixed some spelling Edited January 26, 2012 by thompsonar
justwannaddl
Pure mage with upgrades to only magicka and no armor. I got tired of dying from random sabre cat attacks. I was persistent though. I made it up to level 36 before I said enough was enough. Edited January 27, 2012 by justwannaddl
