Skyrim Nexus performance tweaks

I am currently in the process of adding some performance tweaks to the current Skyrim Nexus site code to try and help the sites to perform better at peak times, especially at weekends.

A side effect of these tweaks is that file stats including the page view, downloads and unique downloads counters will no longer be real-time but updated at regular intervals throughout the day (perhaps every 4 hours). Your stats are still being recorded, they just won't be immediately visible.

I would appreciate any bug reports (like, no stats being updated/recorded in a 24 hour period) and also any feedback on the performance of Skyrim Nexus from when you read this message onwards. Please do not use this thread to report on any DNS errors (connectivity issues), or problems on other sites.

Thank you! Here's to hoping we can make these sites as fast and responsive as is realistically possible.

The 4 hour thing, while being a great performance booster it kinda sucks to not see current progress... If you're going to make this a permanent feature, could you give mod authors a button that allows them to manually update it? So if a mod author doesn't care, then it will default to 4 hours, but if a mod author wants to see current downloads and etc, then it sends a request to the server to update that particular file's stats. Assuming that is all possible with your set up.

EDIT: I'm saying this because I have just released a mod, kinda like to see how it's going w/ the popularity :P

Running great for me too!

Just fired up Nexus Mod Manager to check see if any Skyrim Mods needed an update, by way of a test. Two did require updating. The downloads were rapid and went without a hitch.

Site seems generally a lot faster. Thanks for the work Robin~!

Hope those with DNS error's have discovered a faster more stable site...S:
