Trend that seems to be starting from the Steam workshop

I'm noticing modders moving from The Nexus to the steam workshop and saying they refuse to support the nexus anymore. If this trend continues and the big name modders refuse to support The Nexus things might look bleak in the future. Can anyone explain why someone would do this in the first place? Is it simply a person being too lazy to spend the extra time uploading here?

it just came out. -.- and there were dozens of threads on this already. So nothing in this post has proof.

The top rated mod on the workshop right now has the creator staying plainly " I do not support the Nexus" he even removed his mod from the nexus (arrowsmithing) which had to be reuploaded by another member (with permission).

I hope so. It would really suck if people stopped releasing here. I think the workshop has some cool ideas but I'm worried about conflicts and the auto updating. Scripting mods could become a big issue (though the CK now has a scripting function so it might work better).

Its not like that mod is that hard to duplicate anyways. I doubt anyone would jump ship over this guy going over. Now I have noticed some of the more popular modders already having uploaded some of their work to the SW. Which is fine especially since they still have their mod here on the nexus. I also find that samutz guys comments amusing that he left because of the moderators when in fact that is the primary reason I use nexus over any other site, because they weed out the undesirables kind of like a gated community.

The workshop is for casual users, more than "modders", it's simple and all, but I personally find the fact Steam does stuff for you and there are only two things you can do - Sub and Unsub a bit creepy. Plus it's been just a few hours, and mostly anything in there is here as well.

It might be slightly logical to expect that banned mod authors aren't going to upload their mods to the Nexus...

Remember there's always two sides to every story, and if you want both sides, all you need to do is ask. People lie.
